Not just a nice design, a stunning example of modeling, texturing, and rendering. My virtual hat is tipped. Gorgeous!
Well, I figured since this is the first ship I've ever designed, I had to do an animation with it. Render passes are finishing up, so I hope I can have the animation soon. In the mean time, a frame grab.
Since it's the first ship I've done from scratch, I figured I better make an animation of it. I'll call this a first draft. I am open to critiques or suggestions for improvement.
Looks great . I'm not sure if it was the vimeo player but I couldn't get it to go full screen to admire the details.
Click the Vimeo logo at the bottom of the player, and it will take you to the main page where you can full screen it.
The Tyson flyby is great, I still can't view it in fullscreen though. But on another note, I ended up on your profile page and noticed that your Enterprise-A flyby video had been updated. And GOOD LORD it looks amazing. That TMP pearlescent shine on the hull is beautiful.
Daniel, check your Vimeo embed settings... for some reason, even clicking on the Vimeo logo is not taking the viewer to your Vimeo page for that video. (Which looks amazing as always.)
Freaking gorgeous man! Honestly the only critique i could make is that the panels that catch the most spec as the light rakes across it get a bit flat and plastic like. I feel like you took an RGB noise texture and used it in your comp to add a touch of really subtle variation within those panels, it may take a touch of the CG curse off. And thats just me being super nit picky. Love seeing the bridge in there as well, that adds a lot.
