Speculation: What if the Ferengi are the most compassionate and generous race in the galaxy?

"Technically correct is the best kind of correct."

Rule of Acquisition number 574
okay - are you talking the 44th century?
memory alpha said:
The Rules of Acquisition were the sacred precepts upon which all Ferengi society was based. They were first written by Gint, the first Grand Nagus. In the mid-22nd century there were 173 rules, and by the 24th century there were 285. In theory, every Ferengi business transaction strictly followed all 285 rules.

  1. shut up
  2. be naked
  3. no profits
  4. give omox (maybe)

1. ?
2. Maybe Ferengi do not like to wear clothes. They seem to be descended from amphibians and their homeworld is always rainy. Perhaps, their skin is resistant to the rain and wearing wet clothes is less comfortable than being naked for them.
3. Maybe they are too busy to seek profits
4.?

  1. they are not allowed to speak to non-family people
  2. they are forced to stay naked - brunt nails quark for his mom wearing cloth
  3. they are not allowed to make profits - again brunt and quark
  4. i mispelled that oo-mox
family business (ds9 III-23)

New Rules of Acquisition can be created as needed.

by the grand nagus and he will be at #285 in the 24th century :ack:

... and btw male ferengi are quite fancy dressers

Ferengi women only have to follow 4 rules!

Wow!

1. This seems very strict but they might have created some workarounds.

2. We don’t know how the average Ferengi woman feels about clothes

3. how is this bad?

is that really necessary to a newbie? if you want tobe be rude to a user choose someone more your size (e.g. like me), please - äh - sir.
Eh. “Bullshit” has become more casual. I’m sure it was said at few staff meetings as a adverb , at work.

As for “ You are making up things “...so? The OP admitted to it. They liked the Ferengi a lot, with perhaps more head canon than most of us. That’s fine. We all have come across posters who fleshed out a lot about one of the trek races. I wonder if the OP could do stories in the Fan Fic forums.

Ah yes, the original pilot. Was that exclamation scene reused in the televised "The Menagerie"? Only because one could debate whether or not an untelevised pilot meant solely to sell a series to a network isn't necessarily canonical, especially when alterations are demanded afterward. Which TOS got plenty of.

We also having smiling Spock from "Where No Man..." and "Mudd's Women". There are other early instances that clearly show Vulcans have emotions.

Not sure about TAS and LD though...

They are both canon.

From what I've seen, young male Ferengi receive a basic education at home, from tutors, or at private grammar schools. Later education is very clearly a leap into apprenticeship and entrepreneurial efforts (CTRL+F "Education") with no formal schooling--as you'd see in the Federation.

Although I agree that capitalism works best with competition, remember that Ferengi society is not centered around capitalism. It is centered around greed, with a pseudo-capitalistic idealism built around objectivism and scripture. Nothing is level or fair on Ferenginar, but that's the point; you can't become truly wealthy on a level playing field, you can't be a despot without paupers. Their society is, technically, a mercantile theocracy that exists to perpetuate an endless cycle of selfishness.

Maybe Reddit not a primary source, But?

Please don't do this.

If there's something that needs to be dealt with, either @Nyotarules or I will deal with it.

So women do educate their children and are not just glorified housekeepers.

About greed and capitalism, I have a question. How do you define “truly wealthy”?

I remember when we went to Mexico during a high school trip when some guy came up to us and starting polishing some of our sneakers and demanding money because we were reach.

I think this topic belongs under the "Controversial Star Trek Opinions" thread, because that's all it is. The OP has already said this is straight from his head-canon and that it's okay to make things up as needed.
