Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I'm all for escapist TV shows ignoring COVID. Some shows focus on current politics and they should address COVID honestly. But the ones that are just fun comedies or detective shows, those are the shows people watch to *escape* the thing stressing them out.

Do you have a source for this? I tried Googling to see where you might be getting this from, and the only thing I could find was some Reddit post where a random poster said that he "should" play April.

I honestly don't see RDA playing April.

Since in the novelverse, which I'm fully aware isn't canon, April is from the UK, here's who I imagine playing him...

Michael Palin.

(Yes, that one.)

I don't think shows are there to remind us of our problems. Quite the opposite actually.

Apparently the same applies to Blue Bloods...

I mean, we're three episodes into the new season of that show and not a single mask in sight. I think they might have made a passing reference to the pandemic, but just from watching these eps, you'd never know there'd ever been one.

Does the new MacGyver take place in a timeline where Covid has actually been cured, or do they just pretend it never existed?
An upcoming episode is going to have the characters going into quarantine, so they are going to be dealing with it now.
One other show that's been weird about it has been NCIS: LA, they've made references to COVID, but they aren't wearing masks, and don't appear to be going out of their way to social distance.

Oh no, could this be a sign of thing to come in the new year.

We shouldn't do the fancy glitter ball-dropping in Time Square this year. We should do it John Oliver style, because 2020 fucking deserves it.

Too fast to taser

The price fight between Amazon and a third-party seller is still going on. Amazon is now boasting that their price is 35% lower than it was a few days ago. And the third-party seller is still lowering their price. I'm more curious to see where this will end than actually buying it. :D

I wish I had something in my cart worth doing that for but I don't. I did some New Years Day crafting and built a Vogurtime AM FM radio kit and was thrilled that it actually worked without fault finding.

Happy New Year, everybody. And with the new year, I'm starting a new Winona Ryder Avatar Calendar 2021, with this being the January installment:

Are people really going to pay for the pay version of Peacock for only The Office? All the other shows they have I want to watch and got taken off other services are on the free version.

We get Peacock for free with our cable, so there's no pay-version for us. Still, there's not much on there that really interests me, so if I had to pay for it, there's no way in hell that I would.

Parks & Recreation is mostly what I want to watch on it, but it's on the free version. I think the only content you actually have to pay for is The Office.
