I watch that kind of stuff all the time, and I always find it funny. One thing I know for sure is, if you're going to be an actor in a sci-fi or fantasy production, you need to have a very good imagination since you're going to spend the majority of your time reacting to nothing.
The best stuff is the mo-cap stuff for CGI movies and games.
Curious... They had Sontarans filming on that street on Monday, and a Weeping Angel on Tuesday... If they're from the episode that's weird. Doubly so if the Sonts are supposed to be in a Crimean War episode, less so if it's a Halloween themed one, since both have been rumoured.They're baaaaack...
We know the angels can send people back in time. What if it sends a platoon of sontarans back to the Crimean War?
It messes with their established traits though. Weeping angels send victims back to random times not a focused specific time
Since the location seems to be a modern day street, I had a thought that perhaps they're doing an episode that is supposed to be set during the pandemic with the Doctor and Yaz fighting various aliens out in the streets with everyone else stuck in their homes in lockdown blissfully ignorant that there are aliens rampaging the streets.
Yeah, it's a bit of a flawed premise, since you'd think a fight with Sontarans at least would make noise and get people's attention, and even in the strictest lockdowns people still left their homes at some point, mostly for grocery shopping. Still, aliens operating in the open because everyone is stuck at home is a concept that feels like something you'd see on Doctor Who.
I forget if this comes from behind the scenes sources, tie-in material or is just fan speculation, but supposedly, a particular Angel sends people back to a particular period. Since the Doctor, Martha and Billy were all touched by the same Angel, they all got sent back to the 1960s. Supposedly if either of them were touched by the same Angel that got Kathy, then they too would have ended up in 1920s Hull.

Every time they come back, they just get a little less interesting.
At least the Daleks have motivations and dialogue.

You've reminded me of some bizarre flukes involving the "classic" series when various PBS stations aired episodes and/or "movie cut" serials during the 1980s. Some affiliates somehow wound up receiving tapes that lacked the music and sound effects tracks, instead just containing the "on set" dialogue. I distinctly recall the first two episodes of "The Brain of Morbius" lacking the sound effects. When Sarah watches a flash of lightning that reveals a graveyard of wrecked spaceships, the sequence is utterly silent. Later, the wind blows open the doors to Sollon's abode and a chandelier crashes to the floor (caused by the Karn Sisterhood's mental powers). When I first saw it, the doors just swing open with a slight creak and the lighting fixture merely goes "tak" when it contacts the floor. It wasn't until years later I experienced the proper edit. There's a "howl" of wind and the doors "slam" open; followed by the assembly of suspended candles "crashing".
But the really "goofy" sequence involved the "cut" of "Resurrection of the Daleks" our PBS station got. There's a sequence when Daleks along with "human" shock-troopers blast their way into a space station that imprisons Davros. Several station personnel start to fire at the troopers and the troopers at the station personnel. Their weapons produce no sound! There's shouting, people aiming their guns and then somebody will stagger, scream and collapse! It was like watching neighborhood kids playing "cops and robbers" or "army", but they couldn't even say "Bang! Bang!" It was rather pantomime and unintentionally hilarious!
How stations got videotapes (commercial grade, obviously, not VHS or Beta) that lacked the music and audio effects I have no idea. Even stranger, part of the same story would lack the sound or other parts did, but not like a scene or two, the "absence" would be an entire episode or two for episodically aired stories or the length of a couple for the "omnibus" (movie length) cuts. It was the darnedest thing!
But it does demonstrate just how vital sound is to a genre production for "selling" the illusion!
Yes, it was for entire episodes for me as well. I just focused on that particular scene in my description as that was when it was most obvious the music and sound effects track was missing. It also demonstrated that voice augmentation like the "ring modulation" for the Daleks was done "live" on set during primary recording rather than in "post". Otherwise, we would have heard nothing but muffled human voices a bit nasal and stressing each syllable.
Would you mind revealing which PBS market you watched when you witnessed that fluke with "Resurrection..."? I personally experienced this from two different "feeds", WFSU from Tallahassee, Florida which aired it as individual episodes (I think 1 of the 4 episodes had this issue) and a relayed feed from Atlanta, Georgia the GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting) , half of the "omnibus" (movie cut) airing lacked the sound effects and music. I just wonder if we were part of the broadcast region or if more stations received these faulty tapes.
I saw the problem on KRMA in Denver back in the 80s.
Obviously, two examples don't make a "pattern", bur apparently it was not a "one off" fluke. Thanks for the feedback!

It could just be media BS but I can also see it happening. Three seasons is the norm these days, though as someone on Twitter pointed out, that would mean she's done way fewer eps than 10,11 or 12.

Me too. Haven’t been a big fan of her Doctor but I’ve liked her an actor in many other things, so I’d like to see how she fares under another writer & showrunner.
People always dismiss them as a tabloid but The Mirror have an excellent track record with Who-related scoops going back years. And to be honest given her non-answers to that question in recent interviews I'm not shocked.
I'd also agree that I wish it was her staying and Chibnall going.
Edit: And now I'm wondering if we've actually already met the "next" Doctor...

She flat-out said she wasn't leaving the role any time soon in an interview that was conducted just 5 weeks ago, and I really doubt that anything has changed about her mindset in those 5 weeks.
