Well, I've started making changes to my Where No Man Has Gone Before model of the USS Enterprise to make it more closely resemble the season one model.

I've just started, but hey, it's been a while and I'm glad to get this far.

Perhaps have one as the Constitution itself with the phaser cannon on the lower sensor dome, but not on Enterprise herself.

I’ve often wanted to see the revised pilot nacelle vents on the back but the production front caps on the nacelles.

The rectangular aft cap with forward spikes should be for Constitution as launched. My head canon, I know...

That is very kind of you! Thank you!
Hum. Interesting ideas! When I'm done with the Enterprise, I just might go back and do those.

    Astounding!
So let me get this straight, you are modifying the model you just did(for obvious reasons) into this version...but you did save the older mesh as a separate file, yes?
And if you do save each as their own individual file, can you do a comparison shot?

So what is the difference between the s1 and the s2? Other than the nacelle lights? (If I knew this once then those moments are lost. Like tears... in rain.)

(And yes, yes, yes. Nice as always.)

    1) Yes, I have separate files for The Cage version, and one for the Where No Man Has Gone Before version.
    2) Yes, but I will admit I had not really thought about that. The next question would be, do I wait until I make the "modified" versions with lights in the The Cage version?
    Oh, these versions are:
    1) The Cage
    2) Where No Man Has Gone Before
    3) Season One

But, if I remember correctly, the only differences over the first two seasons were additional dirt and such being painted on. That, and occasional changes in warp lights. So, I'll look and see if there is any pressing need, but I doubt it. My third Enterprise will likely represent the "lit" version and I'll try to make it look as close to the real thing as I can.

Heck of an idea, though. I have the data somewhere, but I could dig that up and ask some questions and maybe ... just maybe I can make different "production" versions. Hm. Hadn't thought about that. Could be fun!

    WAIT! WAIT!

Rear hanger doors. They WERE just round, then they became doors. That was one change. Yeah.

Didn't they also build a new model for Trials and Tribble-ations?

YES, but ... they committed a cardinal mistake (from my point of view). They included the top-of-the-saucer round port as a lit window. The top front round cut out was NOT lit during the series. I believe it was painted over to look like the regular hull.

If there were plans to light that section, they never happened.

My point of view is that Trials and Tribble-ations must have taken place in some parallel universe! ;)

^^ Mwah, it was just a crewman who forgot to switch off the light, that's all. :p
