Nope, especially if the sci fi show is Star Trek.

It really doesn't matter. It's either too far, too close or right where it needs to be.

Do you even watch the show????
It's a joke based on the user name Kelso.

I have a life thank you very much... I just do stuff like this when I have some spare time to relax a bit and take my mind off of different things... such as the pandemic, the current (deteriorating) state of the socio-economic system which will collapse globally by roughly 2030, worsening conditions of the biosphere (such as climate change) and my studies.

Don't presume people don't 'have a life' just because they write a comprehensive reply on a topic they find interesting

Unless he suddenly gains the power to bring back everyone he killed, chooses to do so to make up for his mistake, and then somehow de powers himself, I am not sure why you think that matters.

The simple fact is, he caused it to happen, and as long as he exists he could cause it to happen again.

This sort of thing is in fact the very reason why General Order 24 exists. Because for all 99.9% of the time a thing might be harmless, even that .1% makes it too dangerous to be allowed to continue to exist.

Incorrect, because even Riker or Janeway at their worst remembered to raise shields and lock down the computers.

Except not, because they wouldn't have known everything she showed she knew.

And no one else in Starfleet knows?

Still harsh and not very Starfleet or Star Trek.

I was thinking of a different captain who's ship was boarded and hijacked with some frequency.

One thing that confused me. They kept going on and on about a four hour limit on the planet, but when Saru and Culber stay behind, Culber tells Michael that Discovery would need recover them within a day or it would be too late. So, what's the actual timetable here?

They had no idea Adira was coming to the rescue, and if the pills they were bringing will help, why didn't the away team bring them in the first place?

I feel like I missed something.

I assume Adira is bringing a fresh dose of what they took before.

I guess, but then why wouldn't they have brought extra along? I get that they wouldn't have been able to use it because of the holotechnology, but still.

And they didn't know she was coming, so why volunteer to stay if anything after four hours was supposed to be a death sentence?

They did have extra, but that was lost when they entered the holo.

OK. So why then were they all about staying behind when it should have meant death no matter what? They kept talking about that four hour limit....

Apparently, there is a specific time limit in which they can survive the radiation and be revived, even though they will probably be at Deaths Door.

General Order 24 is a Starfleet General Order for those very types of occasions, try again.

I think Saru is going to prevent a new burn, not Burnham

Burnham and book are probably going to save discovery and federation HQ, but preventing a new burn will be on the 3 left behind.

Nice touch to let Saru look human.

Tilly needs to be more like Killy. That was weak.

I especially liked the touch that Saru had pointed sideburns.

    Someone else mentioned this earlier...

What if Su'Kal is actually the ghost like creature now and the Kelpian is part of the holodeck?

That could explain why he's able to effect the dilithium in such a manner to cause The Burn.

Perhaps he has become an integral part of the planet?

I find that at odds with Star Trek and Starfleet, in spite of it being a Starfleet order.

What Killy does wouldn't work for Tilly, because Killy controls through fear.

What bothers me is I feel like something lies in that hypothetical episode.

The first episode ended with, literally, hope; that someone has finally arrived to restore the Federation to what it once was. But since then, I've gotten no sense that objective is being carried out. Discovery just returned to Starfleet and is essentially just one of the other ships following orders. There's no sense of them restoring the soul of who the Federation once was. To me, that's been the most disappointing thing this season so far.
