DC Comics: Rebirth

Brandon Peterson is a comics veteran. He's been working on and off for Marvel since the early 90s, but has also worked for Top Cow and Crossgen (when that was still a thing). For DC, he's worked on 23 issues of the Green Lanterns book starring Jessica Cruz & Simon Baz.

Jeremy Adams appears to be new to comics, though. He wrote the final issue of the recently concluded SHAZAM! book. He's previously worked for animation, where he got some experience with the Flash in an episode of Justice League Action and the direct-to-video film LEGO DC Comics Superheroes: The Flash.

And as a Wally fan, I sure hope they finally get it right.

Yeah, from the bits and pieces I've picked up around the internet, it sounds like Wally hasn't exactly been getting the best treatment lately. It sounds like this is going to be trying to fix some of that.

That's an understatement

Jeremy Adams and Brandon Peterson will be taking over as writer and artist on The Flash starting with #768. Their first arc is going to deal with the redemption of Wally West, and will see "the Flash Family decide who will carry the Scarlet Speedster legacy towards the future." I've never heard of either of them.

I'm really conflicted. I've never liked Wally, outside of the animated JL cartoon version I've always considered him the inferior Flash, and he's literally a psychotic mass murderer now because of Tom King's shit. But I liked the Cruz/Baz Green Lanterns book (its the only good GL book since the New 52 happened, in my opinion), and I don't want to drop The Flash, since its pretty much the only DC book I'm reading.

Also, I didn't see this mentioned, but Tom Taylor is taking over Nightwing

I was thinking of getting into Nightwing now that "Rick Grayson" was dead and gone, I'd enjoyed the Rebirth Nightwing book before the Rick grayson stuff ruined it, but I won't read a Tom Taylor book anymore then I'd read a book by DC's other Terrible Tom, so its a hard pass for me.

Same for all the other books mentioned. Bendis is a permanent "do not buy" at this point, and Superman has pretty much been ruined by Bendis. Joker shouldn't have an ongoing so fuck that book, and I don't care for most anthologies, at least not in the style they're using. Crime Syndicate is apparently a Death Metal spin off, so thats a big fucking no on that one, too.

Noice, though the positioning/prominence of the characters is predictably screwed up -- Jimmy, Perry, and especially Lois need to be foregrounded, not reduced to tiny peripheral figures in the shadows of tons of less important powered/costumed characters. But I guess DC gonna DC.

The March solicits are out.

There's a new one-shot "Infinite Frontier #0" to set up the new status quo.

Swamp Thing is a 10-issue limited series now. Well, better they be up-front about it.

Justice League Dark appears to have been nixed and repurposed as a back-up feature for the main JL book.

Neal Adams' Batman vs. Ra's al Ghul finally continues.

Grant Morrison's The Green Lantern concludes, and it appears the new GL title won't be debuting before April.

I noticed they had Grant Morrison's GL down by the comics not in the main DC Universe, so does that mean's it's also not set there?

Pre-annoyed that the Robin back-up that starts in Batman continues in Detective Comics. Guess I probably won't get to read the second part until it makes its way to the DC App.

And again....I was so excited that Wally was coming back in Rebirth and that the original Titans were getting an ongoing. The series was ruined by Heroes in Crisis (a mediocre story at best) and by Dick getting injured.

To be fair I liked a lot of the therapy, and I'd totally buy a book of just that, but hopefully the Wally stuff'll be erased by the next reboot and we'll get non-killer Wally back and Roy and those other characters back to boot.

Well Flash Forward was the comic that served that purpose. It was his redemption arc.

I will set up a new thread.

Except the "accidental murders by the speedforce that never worked that way before" still happened and those characters are still dead, so it wasn't nearly good enough.

I'd like to see DC collect the Worlds Collide crossover between the Milestone titles and the Superman titles from twenty-five years ago. I was not able to get all of it at the time; the Milestone titles weren't big sellers, so my local shop didn't order very many of them.
I happened to run across this old post today. Are you aware that DC just released a massive Milestone Compendium Two trade paperback that does include the "Worlds Collide" crossover?
