Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised.

Don't want to start criticizing, but maybe it felt like it was a vacation from the michael-saves-the-day plots I feel we get a lot. Note I am emphasizing my jnderstanding of my perception of the matter.

Also I like when bad characters grow or get redemption, as might be happening.

Also, 2 eps with no teary eyes? (Note non-use of contentious term, "crying"!)

I mean, I'm glad it worked for you. I will miss this understanding when the teary eyes come back. Though, I will be enjoying it.

I was unspoiled as to where (the guardian??maybe yes) was taking us. My interest severely dropped when it turned out to be the MU again. And even more so that we’ll be here again next week.

It was stated he was a time soldier who crossed over from the Kelvin Universe. He was obviously working in our Star Trek PU (which is how they knew about the condition that was affecting Philippa Georgiou); thus he was wearing a PU 24th century uniform in that holographic record. What's so crazy about that?

Nowhere did it say he was ‘working’ in the PU, just that he crossed over. And because he crossed over into the PU after the Temporal Accords (because he traveled from a different time as well as from a different universe), then he would have crossed over sometime after the 31st century. So why would he be wearing that uniform unless it was the standard duty uniform from the Kelvin timeline of 2379?

Perhaps. That wasn’t made clear. The implication seemed to be more that it was his normal attire for a Lt. Cmdr in the Kelvin timeline of 2379.

damned good episode. solid 9. Michelle Yeoh is excellent in it, as is everyone, Olajedejo, SMG and Jones especially. I loved tying all three main trek universes together.

It wasn't stated that he crossed over into the 32nd century. You need to watch the episode again because what they stated was he crossed over in 2379 from the Kelvin Universe. They stated that was the last time they had a crossover of that type of any kind. And if he was some sort of time soldier, and crossing over to do something in the PU, It stands to reason he would be wearing a PU uniform not a Kelvin one.

Although technically the U.S.S. Defiant crossed from the Prime Universe to the Mirror Universe and went back in time 113 years so shouldn't that be the third example of time travelers who crossed both a dimensional as well as a time barrier?

I liked it... a lot...the cruel majesty of the Terran empire on full display, costumes and regalia, violent pomp and circumstance, with a decent story surrounding it overall. The grade has to be "incomplete" until the wrap-up, obviously, but I'm hoping for a strong finish, and not for a Shockwave of Enterprise fame, which followed up a classic part one with a placid dud... strong 8 for now...

I think the play reenacting Empress Georgiou's ascent had her using a sword? Wouldn't that be outdated to put it mildly? I get it was a propaganda play but I found it rather odd. Maybe she fought Klingons who used bat'leths.

The Guardian has appeared repeatedly in tie-in fiction, not to mention Star Trek: Online and “Yesteryear.” Which is a longer way of saying, “beats me!”

Peter David used it in his novels with explicit permission from Ellison; they were friends.

It was used without permission in the "Crucible" trilogy of books; a lawsuit resulted.

Well the people on it were dead at the time so I don't think they count. They weren't really travelers, just cargo.

Yes, you're right, I am confused. Because why would the Temporal Accords dissallow Yor to return to his universe if he crossed over 800 years before the Temporal Accords existed? Remember, he traveled in time as well as across universes. The impression I got is that Yor came from 2379 of the Kelvin timeline to circa 3000 of the prime universe. I could be wrong. Time travel makes little sense.

Best episode of the season so far.

Has a feel of TOS and TNG combined. Like Picard and Co dressing up on a holodeck or some planet, and the madness/ridiculous costumes in TOS. Since it wasn't just one episode, it is also very Discovery.

Gives a lot more background to the MU and Emperors story. I like Killy better than Tilly.
Love how MU Stamets died.

Was that really Rekha Sharma/Commander Ellen Landry back in MU or a lookalike?
