Fair enough, but I do share @cultcross notion that the writers could tone down the emotionalism a bit to balance things out because right now it seems a bit too emotional.

That's fair, and I'm sure it is a taste thing. I'm enjoying this season but I do find myself rolling my eyes at the heavy handed emotion. I'm glad you enjoy that aspect though, genuinely.

And I do genuinely hope they tone it down so that others can enjoy it too.

I don't know-in real life I am not as much a fan of big emotional moments. In entertainment though it is absolutely something that I find so incredibly enjoyable. So, I'm trying really hard to sympathize with those who find the emotion heavy handed. But, I feel like I'm missing something that is irksome to others.

It's not real for adults to tear up all the time in front of peers and co-workers that much so for me it makes them less like real people for me

Then those anti-SJW people would win, we can't let that happen ;)
Stupid attacks on a show should not stop reasonable criticism or pointing out what could be improved.
That's quite an odd way of thinking, actually. One has nothing to do with the other.

They aren't just co-workers any more. After all they have gone through together and especially now, when they're cut off from everything they used to hold familiar, they have grown into a family. Quite a difference from what we started with in 1st season.

Depends on the family. I wish mine would cry more but if they did I don't think anyone would handle it well. Were just not an emotionally outward family

Right it seems to happen every episode. The crying or over emotion. It gets really boring. Give me a good story outside the discovery drama.

Why not both? I mean, I think Discovery's story is super interesting as well as I appreciate the emotional moments. I think this tears/crying thing is made too much of a thing.
