The textures look great! I love the little wrinkles on the bed fabric
Could I ask what source for the dimensions you are using for Kirk's quarters? The reason I ask is that there are various small differences between the set sketches (such as the one for JTB) from the way the set was actually built and you mentioned studying screencaps

This is all I had to work with other than the screenshots. I know there are some clear detailed blueprints, I did reach out to feek from TOS graphics whom very kindly helped me out with the bridge and engineering but he has not responded to my last few e-mails.

zooming in on these in max for reference is like looking at a random array of dots.

I've studied those same plans at length for years but only recently (when I tried to do an absolutely precise plan of the filming sets in vector software) that I realised the carpenters who built the sets made various adjustments to the sets as drawn. Even those more precise plans (now comprised of an array of dots!) were not sacrosanct - they were mostly followed, but treated more as guidelines than actual rules
Screencaps are normally fine to verify any changes, but the issue with the Captain's Cabin set is that there's a much more limited number of angles it was filmed from and virtually none which included the windows, something that would be really handy in determining the true length of those end walls.

Anyway, back to your work - if you stick to the sketch plans you won't go far wrong :techman:

Thanks for that, well I'm generally pleased with the result unless someone can point out something I have missed then I would change it. It was only at the last minute that I included the vent in the corner which I noticed on an episode I was watching the other day. [IMG]vent by Ian Simpson, on Flickr

That's OK, I don't think it appeared until that episode (Obsession) and I'm not sure how long it stuck around afterwards!

    Hi chaps,
I thought would have a go at the Red statue in Kirk's quarters. I'm getting my head round Zbrush a bit now. I know it's not much like it but it fills a gap for now. [IMG]Red Statue 1 by Ian Simpson, on Flickr

    Hi all interested parties.

I spent about five hours creating the ugliest face I have ever seen though it is my first attempt at face modelling. Sadly it looks nothing like the original but I can always tweak it when I have more experience with zbrush.[IMG]HighresScreenshot00017 by Ian Simpson, on Flickr

I also had a go at the TOS booze bottle I think it was Saurian brandy? not sure.

That's a lovely ugly face!

And yes, that is a Saurian Brandy bottle - best pronounced in the way that EvilKirk did in The Enemy Within ;)

Did you use screencaps or pictures of the original Dickel Tennessee Whiskey bottle?

    Hi everyone!
So I've spent the last 2 days or so building the Auxiliary control room.
I toyed with the idea of making the symmetrical but decided against that. I made up something for the wall we didn't see in the show by putting some "cannon" props on the wall.

So here we have the entrance, to me it looks like it's tucked away off of the main corridor somewhere. I this episode "The Way To Eden" the crew seem to approach it in the corridor opposite engineering, any Ideas?

I have a vague recollection of seeing an updated stage blueprint that shows added set design elements, including the aux control set. I think it was a stand-alone set, situated between the bridge and engineering sets. If you’re asking for an in-universe location, I have no idea. I don’t recall whether or not the FJ blueprints ever placed it.
