I finally took the time to watch your episode (sorry!), and I really enjoyed it. Your team's FX work is really impressive. The location choices are very attractive (made me want to go visit the Scottish countryside). The dialogue was entertaining, especially the light bickering.
I admit to having only seen a handful of your episodes over an extended period of time. I guessed the blonde ''ghost girl'' is a former cast member whose character passed away? I'll have to watch the episode again since English is not my first language and the scottish brogue takes some getting used to, I'm not certain if the characters' names were all mentioned during the episode.
I'm still impressed you've been producing shows for so many years. Watching this one has coaxed me into catching up to at least finding out who the blonde girl is. If you have episode suggestions, I'm all ears
The cinematography was really good (images were clear), and I also liked the music.
I know I'm a dope for not having watched more of your series because of my infantile bias against post-DS9 Trek, but I'll make an effort.
    Great job Nick and crew

Thanks for watching Bixby, and for the kind words. I’m really glad you enjoyed it, I do think it’s one of our better, more polished efforts.

As to the story, it’s actually a stand alone. Think of it like Kirk’s history with the Farragut, something from his past that has haunted him for a long time.

Waiting for Lower Decks to make it’s way across the ocean? You could always check out our latest little Star Trek fanfilm in the link above. It’s possibly better than you expect. Or at least not as bad as you think. Fanfilms, if you think about it, we’re kind of the lower decks of fandom.

Not sure what’s going on, but we’ve had a sudden surge in views on this most recent film (not to mention a few trollish comments). So if you’re one of the more recent views, thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it. :)

Some of them, yes. We’ve had a surge in comments about the accents as well, some have been friendly and fun, others not so much. I do understand why some people can find it jarring, but then not everyone sounds like an American either. :)

Overall, people seem to be enjoying this one though, which is really nice. I think it’s a good film, warts and all. :)

Terrible, how could you use your natural accent, you fellow Scot you! ;)

Actually, how's everyone on the Intrepid teams American accents? Imagine the bitchy comments that might have brought! ;)

Seriously, just keep up the good work. In the comments section of YouTube, everyone's an expert on stuff they probably haven't tried themselves.

    C'mon the Scots!:cool::cool::cool:

    Guilt by association.

Funny story. Years ago my wife and I did a greeting video upon request for one of the Hidden Frontier balls. We were asked to play up the Scottish thing. When our director Steve saw what we’d shot he was somewhat offended, thinking we were taking the piss out of Scotland. Actually, we were taking the piss out of people who complained about the “thick” accents, but I guess it was lost in translation. :)

Well I'm guilty of some stuff myself with respect to not really getting the difference in the past.

I have an Irish friend who took great offense when I said I couldn't really tell the difference between the Irish and the Scottish, (apart from the kilts).

Believe me, I understand it now (And I apologize for my prior ignorance) - but hey I guess that's why I'm an "Ugly American". :D:crazy:;)

The accent that always throws me for a second is South African. It takes me a moment to zero in on that being what it is.

The accent that always gets me is Picards! Early TNG, although we're told he's French, I always hear Patrick Stewarts' accent has a slight American twang in "Encounter at Farpoint", which isn't apparent in later episodes!

I was reliably told by a drama teacher friend that as an adult, I have no accent!

My accent is broadcast standard MidWestern American, which is comparable to BBC English...which to Americans means no accent at all. Of course, get me in a comfortable gathering with my old mates and my old Southern drawl starts coming out...

Whenever I leave Scotland everyone assumes I’m Scottish. In Scotland, everyone immediately clocks that I’m English. The English accent does come out more when speaking to other English folks.

Years ago, a Geordie friend of mine was asked where in Scotland he came from, which he found hysterical. Admittedly, when we visited Newcastle, his accent did get stronger! :)
