It did seem to have some. But I think most of the people who went to see it were more interested in the visuals than the characters, and a lot of those who loved the characters have probably moved on already in a lot of cases since the studio went so long without even hinting at the possibility of a sequel

Because Ridley's prequels are so much better obviously...

They're better movies, but I wouldn't say they make more sense. At the end of the day, they're horror movies meant to be watched late at night with the lights off. :techman:

Is the going to be a low budget VOD release? After the last one I can't imagine anybody wanting to spend real money making another one.

Doesn't sound like it. I'm pretty shocked to see another one already, I figured after the failure of The Predator, they'd give up, or at least wait a lot longer before giving it another try.

Considering nothing along those lines was stated, I asume it's theatrical, but who knows.

As did I. I found The Predator to have a few good moments, but all in all it just sucked. I am still hoping we'll get something as good as the original this time. Oh, and I did actually enjoy the first sequel as well.

    *EDIT*
AH DAMMIT!!!! The article has been updated, appereantly this was something the director was working on 4 years ago and isn't going to happen anymore.

Very much in agreement with this. The visuals were creative but the characters were bland. Also, for me, the story was just so tired, so been-there-done-that. When/if the sequels come out I'm sure I'll be there for them, but I'm not really enthusiastic about it.

No, the movie is still happening, it's just that the director had some kind of big surprise reveal that he was planning, but now that the news about the movie leaked, he can't do the reveal. IGN's theory is that the movie wasn't going to be revealed as a Predator movie at all before it was released.

Right, I see now. I misread the update. Awesome.

Anytime a new Predator or Alien movie is announced I get giddy. I've been disappointed with the Predator stuff, not the Alien movies (except for the AvP ones) but I'm still hoping they'll knock a good one out

Hmmm, so I wonder how the story the article describes ties into the Predator stuff. Maybe it turns out she's becoming a warrior in order to fight a Predator?

Marvel has revealed their first new Alien comic, which will be coming out in March.
Alien #1 is being written by Phillip Kennedy-Johnson with art by Salvador Larroca
. According to Marvel it will feature "new and familiar characters from Earth and beyond".
    Here's the description from Marvel:
I'm not familiar with Phillip Kennedy-Johnson, but I have liked Salvador Larroca's artwork in the Star Wars comics. I'll definitely be checking this one out.

Why oh why don't they move the story of Predator in to the future and do the books? Them Retreading the same story over and over again, (Lookin at you Terminator..) is getting old and sucks.

I actually liked the first AvP movie, the second one sucked like a small black hole, but had some good parts..
1st one was awesome, 2nd was good because it moved to the city. Predators was okay, and the last one was.. meh..

Throw it into the future, have 1 movie of each the Alien and a predator movie, that leads in to a AvP movie with a setup cast.
And keep Ridley (Android love is okay) Scott AWAY from it!

I’m most interested in a sequel to Covenant.

The AvP movies never really did anything for me. The first one was fun but immediately forgettable. The second one was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

I’m one of the few people who actually liked The Predator.

Now that I think about it, I actually like all the Alien and Predator movies to varying degrees. I know people are very split on these films. I guess I am more forgiving.

I really enjoyed both Prometheus and Covenant and would love to see Scott finish that trilogy. The first AvP movie is something I some watch when I don't know what to do and just have some background noise while having a beer, snacks and texting with friends.

I enjoyed Prometheus and Covenant as well. They're both BEAUTIFUL to watch cinematography wise, but the stories do get a bit dopey (looking at you Fifield and Dr. Manhattan). My biggest disappointment in Covenant was they veered straight back to Xenomorphs. I was more interested in the Engineers story.
