On second watch......if it took Grudge 3 weeks to reach Discovery how did Burnham make it there and back so fast?
Speed of the plot.
Or perhaps needing opposable thumbs to operate the warp drive (or whatever FTL device Book's ship has).

I can't believe it. I was right and wrong at the same time. Discovery wasn't destroyed and now it's been rebranded the Discovery-A.I think Zora won't allow Discovery to be destroyed. So a Discovery-A isn't in the cards.

From Q&A, the Enterprise already had different uniforms from the rest of the fleet 3 years before they were distributed to everyone else, so it's not new. They upgrade the ship but not their uniforms? That makes no sense.
Did Book get his ship from Cybertron or something?
Poor Sahil. I thought we'd see him more than we have.A total aside, but I wonder if anyone has asked Starfleet to contact that lonely dude on the broken station waiting for his entire life for a signal.
Yes but they period specific uniforms. I doubt any branch of Starfleet is using a 700 year old uniform stillFrom Q&A, the Enterprise already had different uniforms from the rest of the fleet 3 years before they were distributed to everyone else, so it's not new.
Even Vance thought forcing 32nd century Star Trek The Motion Picture style uniforms on Discovery was too cruel.Yes but they period specific uniforms. I doubt any branch of Starfleet is using a 700 year old uniform still
I agree with this assessment. Despite Burnham being raised on Vulcan she still is highly emotional and driven by strong personal convictions, to the point of obsession. In this instance, I think it is an understandable coping with intense trauma and struggle the whole crew is going through.I think solving the Burn is her way of feeling useful and giving her life purpose. And restoring the Federation is her way of trying to make the world go back to something more comfortable. It is her way of coping with the loss of being 930 years into the future.
I agree they’re not the best looking uniforms but not making them change to makes them stand out more when they should be fitting in.Even Vance thought forcing 32nd century Star Trek The Motion Picture style uniforms on Discovery was too cruel.![]()
Nillson has been functioning as second officer all season. It should be her. Neither Culber or Stamets are in the chain of command. They jettisoned Nhan to man USS Trotsky last week. Otherwise she would've been the new XO.
My guess it would likely be either Culber or Stamets.
I can understand that, but the other part of the "mystery" is it stretches credulity that no one has had the resources to look into this for the past century. Presuming this is a galaxy-wide issue, there were what - quadrillions of sentient lifeforms affected? Maybe more. Why did it take a century, and why does it have to be Michael?
I’m down with the thumb theory.....but is there any FTL travel? I thought that’s why The Burn was a big deal.
Yes it was using warp drive. That why they went to that market, to buy dilithium.I might be mistaken but I thought that Book's ship was travelling FTL in the first episode of the season.
