Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

Wow that trailer was ridiculous, with music and the black and white, it was just trying way to hard to be "dramatic".
Do a lot of people use Vero? The only time I've ever heard anyone talk about it is when Zack Snyder posts something.

That trailer was so Snyder that it could easily pass for a Snyder parody. Having said that, bring it on I am excited!

So my question is this: Why is this basically the exact same trailer we've had for months, with about 0.5 seconds of new shots spliced in?

Snyder does not need to "try" to deliver a dramatic film. He's never had a problem doing that, and just from the trailer, one can see what a Justice League film should have been all along, instead of that horrible, Whedon-ized garbage.

Still teasing.

1) We already got the cartoony MCU Avengers wannabe version.

..and thanks to the theatrical version being Whedon-ized, JL was a disaster.

3) The biggest reason I gave a "yawn" is the sheer predictability of the criticism (ooh..so "pretentious"). Generally speaking, people expressing such opinions about Snyder's version are exceedingly unlikely to watch his version without having already decided how bad and "wrong" it will be--so why should he even consider making an effort to appease those who've already written off his project?

Post of the thread.
Those who habitually enter any DCEU/Snyder thread (or run to social media platforms) to spew the same misplaced hatred of his films are doing so for two weak reasons: one, some resent the fact Snyder crafted a DC film universe and was not ape-ing the MCU to any degree (a win on all accounts). Two, that so many people are more excited by any of Snyder's DC universe continuing, while other DC productions are spiraling (particularly CW TV shows) is that eternal reminder that Snyder's versions were the live action DC more people wanted to see, or consider the only legitimate DC adaptations. I've seen both of those rants in social media for years, and it continues, since they were "forced" to live with months of extremely positive reactions to the Snyder cut information / trailers. That burns them alive.

4) Believe it or not, it is possible to be excited for both Snyder's project and WW'84 (I certainly am).

Same here.

Snyder and Whedon are both bad, actually. They're ridiculously un-serious and have terrible dialogue and acting.

I hope Snyder hasn't lost the rest of his mind, and isn't planning on releasing this thing in 4:3 AR in B&W...

No, it really, really is not what a JL film should be. It might be what some people want a Justice League movie to be, but over the decades the Justice League has been done in so many different ways in different media, that there really is no one way it "should be". There is simply the way each personally prefers, and no version is any more right or wrong than another.
Hell, just look at all the different versions of Batman we've gotten on screen and how different they all are. We've gotten everything from Batman '66 and The Brave and The Bold, to Batman v Superman, and The Dark Knight.

I would have bet money that it wasn't possible to have a worse Steppenwolf design the JL had, and I would have lost that bet. It really feels like he's trolling people, except based on his track record this is exactly the kind of thing he does. I really want this to come out, just so I never have to hear about it again

OK, that "teaser" has got to be one of the most unintentionally funny things ever, but then Snyder never was burdened with an overabundance of self-awareness. I mean that last line alone...wow.

And no, before the slathering Snyder Cut fanboys pitch a fit, this is not an implicit approval for Whedon's work. That movie was garbage, and I suspect this version would just be a different (and slightly more coherent) flavour of garbage. I'm guessing stale, reheated garbage with overtones of shallow pretentious hackery.

It's just...not animation-friendly. Jesus. It won't even look good in motion.

Advent Children Complete continues to remain the undisputed champion of CG use.

You left out reason #3. They just want to share their opinion on a message board.

Unfortunately, your opinion is sideswiped by those who only post in such threads to attack Snyder. Few of this kind of member ever posts anything that is not entirely separated from their agenda, as if the continued support and interest in Snyder's DCEU somehow threatens their view of superhero films, which is another common motivator behind their misguided rage..

Apparently, to the "Hate Snyder Gang" there's only one way to adapt a superhero concept, hence the reason certain people go on and on about Donner's Superman being some "right" version whenever MoS is discussed. If they lived by their "diversity of opinion / adaptation" about superhero films, endless threads would have been free of that kind of post, or realize that Donner's version---great as it is--is in no way perfect in its handling of the character--the very reason I have Donner and Snyder's versions tied as the best Superman films ever made.

Hell, just look at all the different versions of Batman we've gotten on screen and how different they all are. We've gotten everything from Batman '66 and The Brave and The Bold, to Batman v Superman, and The Dark Knight.

...and you still have certain people crying over Nolan's Batman and Batfleck, while cartwheeling over Burton's version, thinking that was some "right" way to adapt the character. That is easy to see in a number of threads on this board. That said, Whedon was the wrong person to be attached to the JL and the DCEU--the results (and very positive reaction to the Snyder Cut trailers and BTS info) are all the evidence one would need to reach that conclusion.

No, they aren't. Every other movie and tv show Whedon has ever made was vastly superior to Justice League and there is no reason whatsoever to assume that if Whedon had had the same freedom and time for the creation of Justice League that he had for Avengers he would somehow have produced anything anywhere close to this level of crap. It wouldn't have been a very original movie, because we've already seen Whedon's Avengers. But it would most likely have been a good one.

The reason the JL movie is so bad is because of the studio suits who let Snyder shoot the entire movie and start editing it and only then decided to show him the door and bring in Whedon to reshoot half the movie and re-edit all of it with a studio mandate to completely change the tone and also insist on releasing the film in theaters way too fast, resulting in some of the worst visual fx of the decade. It's a frankenstein's movie which was clearly forced to prioritize speed over quality and that's not the fault of anyone on the creative side.
