The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Oh, and I thought I was the last! I started watching for the first time back in March and ended only some weeks ago.

Yeah, he deserves a happy family life!

"Disaster in the kitchen" inspired by a friend on Twitter who by her own words is as bad in the kitchen as Kathryn.

Kathryn is oblivious to the danger of cooking. Fireman Chakotay comes to the rescue and they live happily ever after. But from now on he will do the cooking himself!

PS: I handmade that whisk!

Nice flame effects.

"Ah yes. Me. My girlfriend. And her homicidal murder droid."

Hilarious! Your minis are so cute but you MADE the whisk. So cool!

Thank you! They are from Bandai. Also available in other colors like blue or lilac.

I had wanted to make a picture with Alfred Pennyworth baking a cake for someone's birthday and realized I didn't have a whisk. At the time ebay search brought up nothing. I looked at my real life one and thought, how hard can it be, just putting some wire together? Turned out, it was more difficult, as it all kept sliding apart. So while it does not look perfectly round, it does the job.

Also this arrived today:

Tuvok: "May I point out, Captain, that this seating arrangement is a so called 'love seat' and I strongly advise finding another place to rest to not give a wrong impression."

Janeway & Chakotay: "Shut up, Tuvok!"

^That seating arrangemnet doesn't look that different from how they're seated on the bridge.

Are the Captain's & XO chairs of the Voyager already nicknamed The Love Seat? If not, we need to make that a thing.

Around here, a "love seat" is just a smaller couch, rather than two joined chairs with a table in between.

Interesting how the same term is used for different things in different parts of the world!

Yes, exactly! I saw this seat and it reminded me of it immediately. It even has the middle console LOL
I had to buy it just for the heck of it.

LOL We definitely need to make that a thing!

Up until I stumbled about this while looking for dollhouse stuff on ebay, I hadn't known the term (I'm in Germany).
Interesting. Must be a British thing then?

"Mr. Tuvok. You have the Love Seat."

"Captain, please stop calling it that."
Ahahahahaha!
"...while we are in the Ready Room, getting ready to... ahem." ;)

Some months ago my local newspaper "Sächsische Zeitung" had an article about local booze that was illustrated with all those wonderful bottles. They were the right size to be made into a background for my selfmade bar! It's just some mirror foil and wood foil. It looks like it's lit but that's only the ceiling light bouncing off the mirror. I think it's a great effect! Only problem is photographing it without mirroring myself LOL

New adventure on the planet with the turtles / tortoises. Neelix has to learn the hard way that Mommys can get angry!

^Hahahaha! I love this!
The bar is awesome too!
Creating mini worlds is all about seeing possibilities!

Thank you! Yes, I am seeing possibilities everywhere!

This month's contest word is "Favorite" and we were supposed to photograph our favorite figure. I couldn't decide so I let them fight it out among themselves...

"And the Oscar for Astra's favorite action figure goes to..."

"Me, me, give it to me!"

"No me, I was here first!"

"Actually, the Oscar goes to both of you. Stop fighting."

"Sorry, mate. No offense."

"None taken. I know how it is."

One of those Oscars was bought by me in 1994 in California. The other recently was given to me by someone knowing I can use such stuff. They are identical.

Ooooooooh. Those are pretty babies! What scale are they? The detail is verrah niiice!
