The old fan design blueprints of the Alaska-Class USS Enterprise 1701-C?

heres a Capt Shade style one some reason the Cygnus blueprint site dont have it but its also in a book from 1992 or ealyer bout Enterprise History up till then.

 

Yeech, that design is in some serious need of Atolm love, I must say...

I love that design.

The secondary hull is quite wide, and I can easily see Last Starfighter type lotus blossom emplacements in the dead areas to either side of the sensor/deflector dish so as to add detailed surface treatments.

Why have I never seen this design? It does need some work but is not bad at all as a starting point. Using Todd Guenther’s Ingram nacelles is nice but maybe a tad off timewise. But what the hell. In Atolm’s capable hands it will turn out fine.

That is indeed quite an interesting ship design, and I would love to see what Atolm does with it.

 

I’d just like to point out that this is not a FASA design, just a fan-made one after the fact. The ‘Alaska’ class name for the Enterprise-C was from the FASA Officer’s Manual printed during the first season of TNG, before the Ambassador class was revealed as the class for the C. They also had a separate design for the Ambassador class Horatio, which was not meant to be the same design for the C. As a matter of fact, there was no design for the C, the Alaska class presumably being represented by the C sculpture on the Enterprise lineage wall.

The front view of that ship is in any case quite interesting.

 

Yeah she does have some interesting ideas from what I can tell on the little diagram. But still no luck on the full blueprint.

 

I guess that you could see that as a disadvantage but it also means you can have a lot of freedom when it comes to the details of the ship within the general shape it has.

Over at starshipmodeler.net a year or three back, someone was doing a physical build of this. Jayru is doing something similar at scifi-meshed, but that is a better bridge from refit to Probert’s Ambassador than even this.

 

Are you referring to Jayru’s Odysseus or did he do something else?

 

This new ship is USS Horizon NCC-2176
“Not Your Father’s Excelsior”

A refit USS Vengeance with a *real* shuttlebay that bridges NCC-1701-A with Probert’s Ambassador.

But I love the Alaska itself. The secondary hull is different lengths in the top and side views though. I hope Atolm does both ‘versions.’
