So with the Landru part, I got the impression that the Cerritos was the first ship to visit since Kirk and company had a hundred some years earlier

So another 10 from me! 3rd of the season. A great show and a great season. Not looking forward to the wait for season 2, but at least there is Discovery to (hopefully, if it improves on season 2) hold me over.

So many great moments - I won't cover them all. But I am so wondering how this show is going to play out with Boimler on the Titan. Will our set of lower deckers get a new member on the Cerritos, or maybe Boims will get a friend on the Titan? What about Shaxs' replacement? Will T'ana get a moment to note Shaxs passing? What will Rutherford do about his implant? How is Freeman going to justify getting "sidetracked" by Mariner to do the good Starfleet work?

I just realized that the whole "Second Contact specialists" mission is perfect for Lower Decks. Not only does it emphasize the second-tier nature of the ship and our lower deckers (which was clear from the beginning), but it will continue to allow McMahon and crew to revisit all those great old call backs to all of earlier Trek! It's going to be a fun ride!

That was the best season finale since "The Expanse(ENT)."
Uh, the Enterprise finale was called "Terra Prime".

I really liked the "do not obey" sign with the starfleet delta on Landru. That was a nice touch.

It's a sticker! It's so great!

Were they emulating the Aliens music that's been used in a hundred movie trailers?

Ya know Aliens and lots of Trek music were done by James Horner........he's done like 200 films. So if anything it was in the Horner style.
The dramatic music at the end of Star Trek II, with the explosion of the genesis device, is the same music at the end of Aliens with the explosion of the terraforming plant. Horner just reused it and updated it a tad (it's better in Aliens).

It's not intended as a bash. I just don't "get" how it seems like people so quickly and easily give these episodes 9s and 10s and rave and praise this thing as if it's just the best thing ever.

It's your use of "easily gushed". Many of your posts have a subtle (or not so subtle) dig at other watchers/fans. You just cannot manage to say "I didn't like it" but instead veer into "only dimwits could like this". It's frustrating and unfriendly.

My first ever 10 for any of the Kurtzman shows.

I can’t wait to see how Boimler screws up the promotion.

loved all the call backs and that they used drawings of Kirk and Spock from the original animated show instead of re-drawing them in Lower Decks style.

animated Riker was so great. I love how they indicated he was the Boimler to Freeman’s Mariner.

“Gimme warp in the factor of..5..6..7..8...”
“Ugh...jazz”

loved that Shaxs kept calling Rutherford “baby bear” right up to the end.

gonna miss this show.

I hope we stay with Boims and the Titan, and the Cerritos pops up every now and then

On the Ready Room for this episode, McMahan indicated that Boimler will be on the Titan at the start of season 2, and Riker will be seen. And that we will continue to follow the Cerritos at the same time. Oh, and that the Cerritos will get a new chief of security.

I'm glad so many people are apparently easily gushed and entertained but there's just a lot lacking in the show I need more than pretty pictures and characters who can pretty much do anything they want and characters who're just the butt of all of the jokes.
There it is....the inevitable and obligatory “I can’t handle that my opinion is in the unpopular minority...so the only logical explanation is that everyone else is a drooling robot who will be satisfied with anything” argument.

Okay, my first 10. How could it not be, with all the glam shots, the Riker / Mariner connection, Pakled callbacks and displays of sudden tragedy and real heroism all neatly rolled into 28 minutes? This is the true Valentine to the Fans. I can only hope Kate and creators will carry Prodigy to the same auspicious beginning!

It would be great if the new chief of security is the Andorian who went to the secret mission with ransom and tendi
