Spoilers Supergirl - Season 5

I don't think they threw James' ethnicity in our faces on Supergirl other than he was black, especially early on. I can think of more times it came up with Uhura than for James. Later as he became Guardian and when he moved on back to being a reporter there may have been subtext but I wouldn't say it was thrown in our faces.

No, it was not thrown in audiences faces, thanks to the showrunners pulling time-honored BS of using black characters as their tokens, having no interest in or clue about having a black male character's view and approach to the world be informed by who he is, which is not some act or personal choice one can don or remove like a costume. Berlanti, et al., were interested in checking off their not-so-progressive box by having Brooks cast as Olsen, without it meaning anything as a black male character. Overall, he was marginalized until he was unceremoniously dropped from this series.

:guffaw:

I knew you were going to use this news to push your Batwoman theory... but the main fact remains, ALEX will never leave KARA behind!

Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters...

I just want Maggie back.

Lucy Lane too.

Silver Banshee.

Hmmmm?

(Think of a dude, so you don't seem creepy.)

UM?

Maxwell Lord.

I agree with all the above except Silver Banshee.

Never liked her... but loved Lucy and Max.

As for Maggie, maybe she could run into Kelly at a conference and set up a love triangle.

If Max came back it could be a quadrangle.

;)

Gay couples who switch out on the baby making, but also want children who are biological siblings, shop for their sperms or eggs, from the same place.

A sapphic trouple with their hand out for some Lord Seed from the Seed Lord.

Just googled it and see that Maggie was Kate's girlfriend in the comics. It actually makes a lot of sense that she should have been on Batwoman from the start. I don't remember if Maggie was gay on Smallville, but I would think she had to be since she was always gay in the comics from what I know.

Cute line but no way would a billionaire share himself so personally for fear the recepients would come back later with a lawyer to claim part of his kingdom as their child's inheritance.

I've always that they should have had Maggie basically playing the role that Sophie ended up playing in the show. They would have had to tweak the backstory a bit, but having Maggie as the ex who now works for The Crows would have worked just as well as Sophie has.

How do you reconcile that with Kate's military-academy backstory, though? Not to mention that it would be contingent on Floriana Lima's availability and interest.

Every King needs an heir.

Wonker and Burns comes to mind.

Besides, Alex and Max held hands at one point, when they thought death was coming.

If he'd not been shit canned, MAlex would have been dating in season 2, and someone's gayness would have stayed in the closet for another 15 years.

Well at least they can go out on their own terms instead of being canceled which I would assume would happen sooner or later.

I suspect her pregnancy was a bigger issue. Hopefully this will eventually lead to Jon Cryer being Lex on Superman and Lois.

I really like this show and at times have totally loved it. Seems to be the most inconsistent in quality. The season that finally show Lex was some of their best overall. To be followed by this last season which I can barely remember.

I wonder if we will ever see Ruby Rose as Kate Kane with Melissa as Supergir againl? That relationship felt forced by expectations. They are the cousins of Superman and Batman... of course they are friends. Particularly when Kate was introduced in Elseworlds... they barely knew each other. Know there may never be a chance to do anything.

It’s always bothered when the comics follow the similar expectation that Oliver Queen and Hal Jordon were friends.... that means that anyone else who takes on the mantles of Green Arrow and Green Lantern will be friends too...

I'm gonna miss it, but 6 seasons is a good run. At least we'll have Superman as a easy place for characters like Kara, Lex, or Lena to pop back up.
