News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

  • Speaking of romantic triangles, I was gratified that Helbing immediately dismissed the idea of one developing among Clark and Lois and Lana. Clark is the last character who would ever be tempted to stray (though Tulloch interjects playfully that maybe Lois shouldn't know that).

After 10 seasons of Smallville, I could do without Clark pining over Lana.

That said, if there were some tasteful threesome....

If Clark remembers pre-Crisis life, and I believe he does, then he should realize that his infant son ceased to exist, not unlike Sarah Diggle. Does Lois remember the original Jonathan II? It's cool that the crisis replaced one child with two, but it wiped out Clark's son, and that should be something to explore.

  • It's confirmed that the boys are fraternal twins, and that they will be involved in a triangle with Lana's teenaged daughter.
I knew that this CW teenage shit was why they were aged up. Well, that's an easy skip on this show. I mean, the fact that it is barely a Superman show meant that I was probably going to only watch a few episodes, but this just means I won't even do that. The Flash is the last good CW DC show standing. The Arrowverse really went from a power house to pathetic extremely quickly, I can still remember when several days a week were Arrowverse "must see TV" for me, but that was years ago now. Now its just Flash, the first Arrow spin off and the last good show standing (and even it has its problems right now).

^ There’s that open-mindedness and optimism we all know and love. :techman:

When I wrote that Helbing’s emphasis on family issues and character concerns “may not fall happily on some ears,” I was thinking of you, big guy.

Shouldn't you give it chance before ditching? The way show creators and actors talk about their shows have a history of not really being very accurate to what you see on screen. I am sure their is some writer out their for example who wrote for "Heil Honey I'm Home" who thought they were doing a edgy satire exploring the depths of racism in modern society or such and such. This show might just be another CW show that simply has a little family drama dealing with family life in the background.

I admit that previous mistreatment of Superman doesn't have me very optimistic, but I'm hoping that maybe they can pull a Stargirl and do something better than CW shows in recent times. Stargirl was terrific.

I’ve seen unconfirmed reports that the revised suit design that was circulating a few months back is bogus (or at least doesn’t reflect the final design).

Trunks would be preferable, but I’m not counting on it. It’s not a make-or-break issue for me in any case.

That could be good news then. Ultimately, the red trunks are iconic and part of the costume. It helps.

And thanks to Tulloch we've had a peek at maybe what Superman's new S shield looks like. I'm not in love with it so far, but it will depend heavily on what the rest of the suit looks like.

Surely Superman doesn't need to quarantine himself. He's Superman.

You can be a carrier without being infected yourself. There have been a number of stories about exactly that in the past, in comics, radio, and TV -- Superman having to isolate himself because he was contaminated with a disease or radiation that was toxic to others even though it was harmless to him.

If he is a carrier why not just fly off into space and maybe hang out on the moon for awhile?

Superman was infected even during pre-Crisis period
