News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

You can be a carrier without being infected yourself. There have been a number of stories about exactly that in the past, in comics, radio, and TV -- Superman having to isolate himself because he was contaminated with a disease or radiation that was toxic to others even though it was harmless to him.

It would have to be a magical or Kryptonian virus ortherwise it would not be able to penetrate Superman's cells.

Yep. I actually recall buying this issue. Interiors were not by Neal. :(
The covers in those days were frequently by either Neal Adams or Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez - praise be his name, but the interiors were nearly always Curt Swan :(.

Curt Swan is the Superman of my youth. I think our definitive versions of characters are most often those we are first introduced to. For me Adams Batman or Green Lantern, or Aparo's Batman, Grell's Legion, Romita's Spider-Man etc.

Swan was a solid artist. His work in the early 70's Superman titles with Murphy Anderson inking is great.
I'm sure he was a solid artist, I can't draw for toffee. I've personally never been into his style, irrespective of who inked him. The characters often came across to me as too stiff and pre-Crisis I always thought he drew Superman with a receding hairline. People like Neal Adams, JLGL and many of the post-Crisis artists did much better. I also liked Jack Burnley and (when he was mimicking Joe Schuster) Wayne Boring looked better to me.

For the most part this is true. For instance Aparo's Batman/Detective covers and his work in Brave and the Bold back in the 70s, thats Batman for me.

Looks like a Neil Adams cover.
The one and only. Brilliant artist, which is why that cover (from June of 1968) was a letdown once a buyer set eyes on the interiors.

Garcia-Lopez was not working for DC in the era of the posted covers (late 1960s); his first DC work started in 1975.

I knew that this CW teenage shit was why they were aged up. Well, that's an easy skip on this show. I mean, the fact that it is barely a Superman show meant that I was probably going to only watch a few episodes, but this just means I won't even do that. The Flash is the last good CW DC show standing. The Arrowverse really went from a power house to pathetic extremely quickly, I can still remember when several days a week were Arrowverse "must see TV" for me, but that was years ago now. Now its just Flash, the first Arrow spin off and the last good show standing (and even it has its problems right now).

Shots fired!

Oh, and The Flash being "the last good DC show" standing? Heh. It never held that distinction.

Flash and Supergirl are tied for the bottom spot for me. I still enjoy them, but they are not even close to the quality of Black Lighting and Legends.

And for me, I have to say that The Flash and Supergirl are tied for the top spot because they're the only Arrowverse series I've seen, so I have no opinion on the others.

Yet, anyway.

Both Supergirl and the Flash has very mediocre seasons last year. Legends I have not really liked since the third season but I watch for completion sake and do not post my ooinions in those threads. Black Lightning has had three consistently great seasons; I enjoy it a lot.

Supergirl and Flash are showing signs of fatigue. As the senior members of the DCW, I guess that's to be expected. They've "lost the plot" for that last few seasons.

I thoroughly enjoyed Flash up to the end of the Thinker season. The following year was scattered for me, and I really thought that last year was a disaster--the saving grace being Candice Patton's acting toward the end of the season and the stuff with Ralph and Sue. Supergirl I liked up until this season which was a let down and to make it worse, they showed us how much fun the show used to be when Winn was there. I am hoping that the shows will get better this year.

This new Superman show--I am hoping for good things, but the more I read about it the more I am wondering if it will be any good at all.

Sorry, I was referring to when I was first getting comics back in the late 70s. As well as Garcia-Lopez' work on DC's promotional side of things with posters and lunch box covers.

A couple of years ago there was an entire wall calendar devoted to his Superman work.
