Well they had those mushroom shaped stations which seemed to be more widely used. Those stations were bigger and seemed better suited to handle very large starships (like the battlecruisers of their Dominion allies). They could be connected to one another to create an even larger facility like the Monac shipyards. They also didn't seem that much older (or newer) than DS9, so I assumed this type of station is the primary type of station Cardassians use. Maybe the "Nor type" was envisioned to be like these stations, but fell out of favor as soon as Terok Nor was completed and these other type of stations came online and proved to be more of what the Cardassians needed in a space station.

Either way, doesn't really change how the stories work.

No it doesn't, but I wanted to engage in some speculation ;)

Also the admiral in the first episode...

Wasn’t Terok Nor referred as a “mining station”? How can you mine on a station is beyond me, but perhaps the other ones are other kinds of stations...

I think Terok Nor was more of a refining facility, but part of the Cardassians mining infrastructure.

It was an ore processing station. Rock goes in the docking port at the top of the arms, refined metal comes out the bottom. Why it makes sense to haul tons of rock into space rather than seperate it on the surface is beyond me. Best I've got is the resistance kept blowing up planetside facilities.

Makes one wonder why they weren't using transporters and separating the rock from the ore in the process.

I’ve given some thought: as they were strip-mining Bajor to bring the ore to cardassia it makes sense to have a station to stage shippings, if we assume that the refining process needs bulky and expensive equipment it might make sense to do it in orbit, so the material don’t need to be moved a second time (not to mention the terrorism problem planetside).

Is your Geordi teddy avatar from something outside of LD Dooomed? Boimler had one to give to his girlfriend.

Also did the engineering LT.commander mention that his admiral acquaintance is a psycho which is very Trek if so

Does anyone know what the breakdown is on Boimler's "coolest clothes in history" patchwork outfit and where the various things came from?

Funnily enough, it being another Nor type station could explain a nitpick my friend had with the scene, in that once Mariner's friend is revealed to be an alien imposter, all the Starfleet officers pull their phasers out and shoot the alien. If this were DS9, it raises questions as to how they have their phasers with them, since phasers are not allowed on the Promenade per Odo's rules. If it's another station, they obviously would not be following Odo's rules.

True, but then that raises the question, why do Starfleet officers arm themselves during R&R on an allied station during peacetime?

I don’t think that scene was on the station, only that the ship was nearby.

They mined the space, you fools. Then they packaged it up and sold it throughout the galaxy.

True, that wasn't supposed to be on the station. The backgrounds showed Starfleet doors and wall paneling and the dialog had Mariner's friend say “you are the nicest, smartest, handsomest guy on this ship.”

Hmm, I guess I was basing the assumption that they were on the station on the fact the walls were a dark brownish colour, and you'd think a Starfleet ship would have gray-ish interiors.

But, okay, if it is the ship they were on, why are Starfleet officers armed while off-duty on board a hospital ship? Though, I guess if this were during the Dominion War, being armed 24/7 might have been SOP.

It seems that phasers are now an all-purpose tool, used for graffiti removal and carbon removal at least.

That shouldn't be a problem, considering they have been used to heat up stones, weld together stuff, and as time bombs in the past. They seem to be the Swiss Army knife of Starfleet.
