Haven’t seen the most recent episode yet, have to wait until tomorrow morning.
And you call yourself a Star Trek fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I haven't seen it either.

This argument might hold water had the discussion shifted to Tupperware.
Well, I went to two tupperware parties in 2014. It was an invitation. Someone was promoting their tupperware to me and some friends of mine, gave a seminar on tupperware, left, and then the rest of us just hung out afterwards.

Might as well tell us about your addiction to Tupperware. You’ll feel better.

This thread is a perfect example. I'm literally the only one critiquing it -- in a thread that, yes, admittedly is meant to be about a different ST film in a different "universe" -- and yet I have no less than six other people lashing back against me. If you don't see that as defensiveness, that might be because you're amongst that same cohort. People have a hard time noticing their actions or taking responsibility when part of a multitude.
Maybe you have people lashing out at you because THIS ISN'T THE PLACE FOR A CONVERSATION ABOUT ST09. You're not even in the right forum for it. And it's even more tiresome because you've been asked to stop several times.
No offense, but I'm personally much more interested in talking about TUC than 2009. I like the former and am only so-so on the latter. More importantly, this thread is -- or is supposed to be -- about TUC.
There's a whole other fucking forum you guys can talk about Star Trek (2009) in. Use it. It's pretty dead now. So it's not like "the old days". You don't need to hide out here to talk about the film. Go over there.
100% agreed.
You apparently didn't notice how aggressively my earlier criticisms of the 2009 movie were handled in this very same thread. Nevertheless, you're correct. This thread should really return to TUC at this point.
You fucking think? I could not care less about a ST09 debate in a thread about STVI.
Going on and on and on about a film that has nothing to do with TUC in a thread that's supposed to be about TUC is rude. Not everyone who clicks on a thread about Star Trek VI wants to talk about JJ. Consider me one of those people. I want to talk about Nick Meyer and Leonard Nimoy.

So it's not just people who like the film that are complaining about the way this thread has been hijacked.
EXACTLY.
Thread drift happens all the time around here.
Yes, but people usually knock it off after a moderator tells them to. That hasn't happened here, despite numerous requests and attempts to get the thread back on topic.

Someone needs to take a chill pill. I stopped a whole page back.

Despite other people, like yourself, ranting away and trying to provoke me.

Guess I'll be the better person at this point and not respond to the taunts. Discuss TUC as much as you like.

(Also: My first post in this thread was very, very on-topic.)

Pointing out that you haven't stopped after being asked multiple times is not provoking you. This digression started out on page THREE of the thread.

DECKER: I'm aware of that, sir.

Even better... A mod actually posted back on page 6 (post #106), suggesting the discussion be taken over to the "Kelvin Universe" section, but then, four posts later (post #110), that same mod was chiming in with their own thoughts on the digression. That basically caused the tangent to keep going.

And like I said, my first post in here was perfectly on-topic -- more than some of the posts that have followed, pre- and post-tangent.

I understand your frustration, but the tangent has basically ceased now. You're the only one still complaining about it. Of course, you could always make some fresh on-topic posts and lead by example.
