No not the jump to warp, when the ship was in flight when the title of the episode appeared. It was that old TNG style.

Yeah, I liked that bit. (Not strictly a "TNG style" also used plenty of times in DS9, Voyager and Enterprise but, I guess, all in the TNG Era of Trek Series.)

I can't speak for other people but how much I have to say about an episode isn't an indicator of how good or bad it is. I don't know what else to say.

That's pretty much where I'm at. I like the show a lot...but there really isn't much to talk about. That doesn't mean it's not fun/entertaining...But there's not much else to it. It's like, I'm not going to spend a ton of time talking about Lay's Potato Chips. They're good...but they're...you know...potato chips.

I moderately enjoying last week's episode (Rutherford's scenes - not Mariner). It was a step up from the pilot given it actually made me chuckle a few times. So, with restrained expectations I found myself looking forward to a new episode.

Unfortunately, this was another zero laugh excursion. O'Brien at the end was cute, but cutesy name drops aren't going to give the show a pass if the actual content of the series falls flat.

Might I suggest you completely, wildly overanalyze a silly, throwaway joke until it's sapped of all possible fun and bend yourself into knots trying to "justify" how it fits into the canon? Seems to be a popular hobby around here.
Since Star Trek is not allowed to be a comedy that is what we must do.

Also, it is canon.

A from me.

I liked it and laughed a bit; but I didn't find it as funny as last week's episode, and overall I think they're playing it straight a little too much. YMMV.
