The real comedy of this episode is that despite the crew being overworked and not resisting while under attack, once they began fighting back they still managed to vastly outperform the crew of the Enterprise-D when it came to preventing the capture of their ship.

I enjoyed this one, but it went a bit too heavy on the referential humor for my taste and felt a bit more like a Trek parody than having fun within the boundaries of Trek. Still came out of it with a smile, but I wouldn't like this to be the standard tone for the rest of the season. NGL, though - Ransom stabbing Mariner in the foot made me cackle out loud. XD

I gave it a 6 but I was being generous.

Again, it's a comedy, understood...but what Starfleet officer stands around doing tasks on a clock instead of defending the ship?? Surely Mike McMahan doesn't see Starfleet this way.

I've always seen Starfleet as less than 100% military...a pseudo-military, but here the captain has a very rigid phaser rifle up her ass. The crew is pretty dislikable.
