I can't speak for other people but how much I have to say about an episode isn't an indicator of how good or bad it is. I don't know what else to say. Loved the banter between Mariner and Asshole First Officer. I got a kick out of the craziness of the Captain being obsessed with getting things done in 60 minutes. Then doing a 180 and being all for Buffer Time.

That's it. I gave it a 7.

Just like Envoys was step up from The Second Contact, this was step up from the Envoys. I liked both of the plots and the classroom in "The Far Future" has given me positive piece of Futurama nostalgia!

To do some complaining....about complaining...it's kind of funny how I saw something on Youtube I never saw before. The usual deluge of, "This is worse than WW2", "Star Trek is Ruined Forevever", and "Awful Show by Awful People" videos came out.

And the comments?

The comments section was full of positively. Like, "What have you been smoking? Lower Deck is awesome!", "This is what a real fan would make", and "Grow a sense of humor."

This one didn't quite do it for me. I enjoyed the stuff with Mariner and Ransom, but the stuff on the ship came dangerously close to self parody, and that is not something I want the show to become.

Every episode so far has bordered on self-parody.

I'm sure it's part of the concept

I'm sure it is, which is one of the elements that makes it hard for me to fit this square peg in the round hole of the larger universe.

But this was an episode I ended up enjoying even if large aspects just simply don't make sense and "don't fit."

Yeah, for my sanity, I mentally think, "This is the exaggerated cartoon retelling of slightly more serious events in an unseen live action version."
