Had a few good laughs but didn't enjoy this week as much as the previous two.

This moment really made me laugh.

Boimer has mommy issues. LOL.

You think might set up an awkward regret-in-the-morning one night stand between Freeman* and Boimler, that across season blossoms into a will they/won't they relationship?

*I know she's married but polyamory is a thing.
And he seems to …
… have a girlfriend as well. At least that's what Jack Quaid says in the Comic Con panel.

I'm kinda confused, though: Is she really still married to Mariner's father? I don't know, I somehow got the impression they were divorced.

Another 8 for me. Gave me a couple laughs, but once again the whole hyperactive crew just kinds of puts me off. Loved seeing the TNG warp effect though! Been a long time since we've seen those pretty rainbow streaks flying by, and the more I see the Cerritos, the more I love it! Also love that every detail is a love letter to the TNG aesthetics. Really does feel like a tribute to TNG but also a self parody. Again, the hyperactive ADHD crew is the only downside I really have.

Isn't that TMP effects? TNG effects are the stretchy ship with the flash.

The "she's your daughter too" is a typical statement, in fiction, between separated parents regarding a wayward child. So, the use of that phrase does tend to lead one to think they might be divorced/separated, but there's no evidence either way. It's possible they were never married and just hooked up for a time.

That would explain that scene from the promo trailer where Boimler is buck naked, saying something playful, then turns around and is shocked to see Mariner.

On the other hand, it doesn't explain why he was ready to kiss that alien in the second episode.

Good thinking. I think you are correct.

Well, being kinda weak-minded has been established as a character trait for Boimler.

I'm fine with the O'Brien statue.

Of course, you realize this means the character has to get a show of his own some day soon.
