    A Peck/Spock vs.Quinto/Spock showdown.
Who wouldn’t want to see that?

IDK. I'm completely all out in watching DISCO or investing in CBS ALLACCESS, but my friends, who are not Trekfans, loves going to the movies. They love the experience, the sound, the large screens, the aroma of movie popcorn all over the cineplexes, and they wouldn't know a phaser to a communicator, but they're smart enough to know a GUN and CELL PHONE when they see one. They're word of mouth kind of audiences if the movie is good, they will come. Two more seasons decent or bad wouldn't propel the nature of the series to a general audience, just CBS ALLACCESS members who I believe is all in despite it's lack of vision IMO. Star Trek is a worldwide property I believe would attract an audience and will understand Michael Burnham is Spock's retcon sister who happens to be black. Also, the story is set before Kirk and Spock, whether the general audience believes it's Pine and Quinto's world or something they don't care to learn it was from 1966 which would be hard to swallow or believe because there's nothing in it to provide evidence of that. The audience will get the gist DSCO is a prequel to Kirk and Spock and they'll go with it.

Too bad DISCO is so well.....innane, ad I really wanted to like it. I dont see it as its currently shaped as movie material....and it might be problematic with the religious zealots vs athiestic or at least science oriented , all otehr versions of star trek.

    Because science.

Except he hasn't worked since 1995 movie Assassins, and he produced STWoK he didn't write it.

    Has he written anything?

If they did go for a Trek cinematic universe I'd rather it was all new characters rather than yet another rebooted and recast TOS crew, nor a reboot of Picard & Co.

There's plenty of room left in the prime Trek universe so no need to tie it to the Kelvinverse, although I do think Trek is way better suited to TV anyway.

I mean it proves the Hawley's project is still being worked on, Sallin's project probably has little chance of making it.

We haven’t ever been told that it was dead, just that Tarantino had decided “I don’t think I’m going to direct it.” But in that same statement he said he believed it would (and should) still be made. Mark L. Smith wrote the screenplay.

That said… Who can believe they would greenlight Tarantino Trek without Tarantino?

None of this is surprising, IMO. CBS are the Trek masters now. Looks like Paramount is relinquishing the reigns of the property, for the time being, and looking for other pastures.

Deadline had the exclusive so they’re story is probably the most accurate. Looks like Paramount is bringing back the Abrams Trek cast.

He wanted to do time travel or a period piece of some kind if I recall correctly.
