When I asked "I don't see the issue.", I assumed Campe had an issue with him being a Captain, not him possibly appearing.

If It was the appearance part, then I misunderstood.

I’m hoping they are more minor characters that add something to the flavor of the show versus big name characters. CBS has already worn those out for me in the other two shows.

Well he also said when they appear 'it's a big deal' for the ship, so unless it's a minor character that has become a big name since the last time we saw them in-universe, it's probably a major character.

Will Dorn finally get his Captain Worf?!

Well Mike already confirmed there will be some legacy characters in this season, so too late for that.

I just am over Worf. And really don't wish to see him as Captain.

I'm fine if some legacy characters appear, but I really am with @BillJ and want this series to stand on its own. Let's see characters like Jellico or random characters we've seen throughout the years, not someone who was a series regular. It's not necessarily going to destroy my enjoyment of the series if they do that, I just would like something different.

Same here. This appears to be what people have been wanting in terms of closer to a TNG-esque tone and adventure type series. Legacy characters are OK if they make sense in the story. But I prefer them to just do their own thing.

Opening shot on the Enterprise-whatever and it warps away leaving the Cerritos behind to clean up whatever mess they caused. More interesting show.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Wesley Crusher and the Traveler making an appearance, if they could fit that kind of story into the format they’ve developed. Just no interest in hearing Worf bluster about honor anymore.

Because Trek’s only purpose now is to serve as comfort food for a dying fan base.

Now I've found enjoyment in all of the iterations of CBSAA Trek that have appeared to date. But it doesn't have to be that way. My wish has always been to let these series stand on their own. That's hard with Strange New Worlds and Picard, where the entire idea is picking up on characters we've known previously. I'm hoping against hope that Disco season 3 will do this.

I find some interest in nostalgia, obviously, because I still follow Trek. But I’d rather it be a spring board for new characters and ideas and situations than solely recycle what has come before.

Well, it's kinda hard for them to do that when they're in the 32nd (33rd?) Century. The most I could see them doing is having the Dax symbiont.
Plus the Doctor from “Living Witness”, Agent “Daniels”, and the RetroCarrier from Daniels’s database.

They should have a wedding scene with Lt. Wesley Crusher inexplicably just sitting at the head table. No comment or reference to him. Just in the background as Mariner gets drunk and Boimler fidgets.

Just saw the episode and I give it a solid 8.
The characters are likable, the jokes are funny and they seem to up for exploiting the fact that it's a cartoon, by giving us all those Alien background extras.
Loved the Spider. Love the four main characters, loved all the references to older shows/movies (Do you know Deanna Troi? Her body be bangin'!) and...people say what you will but this Animated show gave us a tiny snippet about Orion culture that isn't about sex or piracy, gotta respect that.
I think I especially like Marina, it's nice to see a character like that in Trek, and generally what huge dorks the main characters are
Definitely gonna watch the rest of the season.

WTF! It's blue, not green. Scottie said it was GREEN, dammit! [OUTRAGE]

(Actually, it was pretty cool. Can't wait for more.)
