NCC-1701-A model "prop"

Jason_Adank

Lieutenant

A few years ago I pulled out an old cg model I had made of the refit, done way back in 2002, and converted/updated it to my current app to do a fun shot pretending it was a prop on my dining room table. My version of the Deboers Hulls kit I guess you could say :) ..Actually I kinda wish I had one of those... Anyways here's the result:

Well done, Jason!

Thank you all for the awesome feedback ;) This project was an interesting diversion from what Im normally doing (at that time I was doing a lot of product rendering for Dell). I havent really touched personal projects in a long time, although the covid lockdowns have given me an interest to look at some of my old trek stuff again.

This model is really needing a rexturing job, and at some point Im going to take a stab at trying to capture Paul Olsen's paint techniques to create a version of the pearlescent paints he used. Ive been particularly inspired by Chris Pikes scale model that hes been showing here in the forum, I really like his results a lot. I guess in doing so, Ill be sort of turning this "-A" back into the original refit so some other colors will have to change along the way.

But at the moment, Im reaching into the past to rescue one of my other trek models, the Miranda class.

haha yeah, that would have been the ultimate integration element :) I shoulda put some tuna on the top of the tripod, that would have done it!
