I think I'll continue with that a few more times, you and Prof both have created exceptional versions of the Enterprise. :D

That's what I've been saying this whole thread and his others... I am still pro physical model...but work like this is damn hard to deny.

    Holy cow! Thank you!

Yeah, I would love to be building physical models, but my wife is terrified of the paints and glues, so it's 3D for me! LOL!

Had a little fun this morning. I don't think I got it quite right, and of course, the 2nd Pilot ship was never shot from this angle, but again, just for fun. All done in Blender 3D, of course. A little post work in Photoshop. Inspired by Coward's work on his USS Enterprise (on another forum).

Very cool! I could see this shot inserted somewhere in WNMHGB or similarly the 1st pilot version into “The Cage.”

I know I sound like a broken record, but this work looks so damned much better than what was done in CBS’ TOS-R. The difference is criminal.

Please tell me you’re eventually going to do the series production version.

Well - how long ago did they create TOS-R? Have to consider the improvements in the technology and technique...

IIRC, wasn't the ship shots of NX-01 entirely CGI? Of course, CBS turned down the FX shop that did that show in favor of its own, in-house solution. And it showed.

Wow, thank you my friend! Don't worry about sounding like a broken record. I can use all the encouragement I can get! And I love it!

I have one Production version already, but yes, I will be making at least one more.
I figure the real difference is time. I'm not pressured to meet a deadline. But, I was turning out images and moving sequences even back then that looked better than their space sequences, at least I think so. They were great with their out door scenes! Those were spectacular! They extended landscapes and put people walking around outside stations on planets. Those were beautiful to watch.
I believe you are right ... and I believe you are right.

There was contemporary work that still looked better.

    I absolutely agree!

I should continue. Tallguy's USS Enterprise was a dead-bang duplicate of the original USS Enterprise and in a MUCH earlier version of Blender. His was the one to beat. His work has been used on the covers of comic books ... without his permission.

They could have used his work for TOS-R and it would have looked SPECTACULAR.

Here is a sample of what I mean. This is Tallguy's USS Enterprise. I dare anyone to make a better effect than this!

    Now you do one, @scifieric ! :devil::mallory:

Well, it's his model. I think someone else used it to produce the effect. I tend to try to emulate what I see in the original series. Hm.

    Well ... okay.

Working on this sequence for real. Trying to make it look as much like the original as I can. All done in Blender 3D.
