Lower Decks Trailer Analysis

I DIDN'T SAY NO COMEDY!!!

Just that THIS type of comedy is too far.

For me.

If you like it, fine, go stroke to it.

But for me its too much and doesn't fit. Heaven forbid I should have my ow giddamn opinion that doesn't immediately love everything just because "Star Trek" is attached to it.
That is not the impression given.

So a trailer isn't to give you a taste/look at something to determine whether or not you'll like it?

Again, sorry, I don't adore this thing like everyone else seems too. It has "Trek" on it I should instantly love it no matter what.

I'm the asshole here. Got it. Sorry for having different thoughts from everyone else.

I don't adore. I don't reject it either.

So happy that they're finally making a follow-up to the Star Trek V: The Final Frontier universe after 31 years.

So until 2379 the dark FC/DS9 uniform was in use, then they switched to a very different one in 2380 that resembles the more colorful ones from TNG, but in 2382 (PIC flashback) they're using a predominantly black, VOY-/DS9-like uniform again?

For the interior and exterior of the ship, I like the visual continuity with TNG since it's probably not supposed to be a completely up-to-date vessel. But when it comes to the uniforms, wouldn't it have made more sense to use the TNG movie style?

GEN had a mix of old and new outfits. DS9 bandied about when the TNG movie outfits came in as well. I just see this new style as another transitional piece. And who knows, had TNG the budget they might have envisioned alternate outfits for various ships too.

All it costs is your soul.

Do atheists not say there is no such thing as a soul?

So there is no humor in the future?:vulcan:

It's a parody. It's technically weird that the official brand would do parody as part of its bread and butter, but from what I've seen it doesn't not work and I chuckled a few times...

Ds9 seemed to imply the Uniform depended on the assignment.

When Sisko first arrives at DS9 in the pilot he's in the TNG series uniform, and and switches to the DS9 uniform by the end.
In the episodes where he's reassigned to Earth, he switches back to the TNG series uniform for those episodes and switches back to the DS9 uniform when he goes back to DS9.

I watched it again, and I think it's just stupid fun. As dumb as it looked, I really liked it. I find these comments about wanting to keep Trek serious kinda funny in that the original series was so corny with it's Bears (Private Little War), Gorns (Arena), and everything that was in the epsiode Shore Leave. Heck, one of my favorite episodes of Star Trek ever was a DS9 episode In the Cards which gave us this outstanding line:

Nog: Lions and Geigers, and Bears
Jake: Oh My

I don't want Trek to be serious all the time, and I think what I saw in Lower Decks was stupid and fun and brought a little lightness to my Sunday Morning. I'm really looking forward to the series.

The fonts seem inconsistently displayed. I see Eurostile in several places where it ought to be Millennium/Starfleet Bold Extended or Eurostile Bold Extended...and Helvetica UCE is not in all the spots it ought to be.
