I laugh that the red shirt is not masked; he'll probably be killed by something else long before the virus gets him, so, no need for protection.

I don't have the proper skills of imitating the grain, but I would've done an image with the redshirt (Ensign O'Herlihy, btw) wearing a mask incorrectly, with his nose visible.

That cannot have been a real registered product with the Star Trek name on it........
The truth is often stranger than fiction:
After all, the Enco Company must have drawn inspiration from the 1969 Remco Star Trek Astro-Helmet when they released their Official Star Trek Helmet in 1976. Enco took the ridiculous concept to all new heights of absurdity, however, by adding a movable visor, pull-out antennae and a large red “flashing light emitter with pulsing sonic sound.” Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, was the inclusion of a large sticker sheet, allowing the owner to customize the helmet with their favorite Star Trek character’s name! Without a doubt, the sheer insanity of this toy makes it one of my favorite pieces of Star Trek memorabilia ever made. How can you not love something carrying the tagline “Space Fun Helmet” on its box?

Comparing it to the "Kirk" right next to it, I was pretty sure it was "SPORX".

I was roughing it... :) I did see it look sorta like an "X" but didn't refine it. And for some reason I just heard the voice of my favorite graphic design instructor belittling me over not fixing that before uploading...)
