So. Will Viacom/CBS sell the Star Trek franchises?

Will ViacomCBS sell Star Trek? No way in hell, the IP is worth too much $$$ to loose.

Will ViacomCBS be swallowed up by another Big Company? That one is still on the table....

There is a rumor going around that because of various reasons, Viacom/CBS might sell The Trek franchise. That would mean no more "Discovery". or "Picard". It almos might mean that Kurtzman would lose his job.

This would be unlikely, Star Trek is one of the most important properties ViacomCBS has at the moment, heck ViacomCBS has very few iconic properties nowadays, what do they got: Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Spongebob, Twilight Zone and then what, NCIS? ViacomCBS is not going to give up one of the few things they have that puts them on the pop culture map, someone would need to buy out the entire company to get Star Trek, IMO.

I'm not a fan of the current content, but it isn't going anywhere in the near future. There is Lower Decks, Discovery season three, Picard season two, Strange New Worlds and a Nickelodeon series all in current stages of production.

Your sources need to put down the crack pipe.

And lose money?

Seth McFarland is buying Trek and Disney is selling Seth Star Wars too. Fake news gets spread because some people are dumb enough to believe it. This goes for outside entertainment as well.

That tend to be confirmed two weeks or a month later by mainstream media. Just saying...
Yeah.........haven't seen that from any click bait sites or YouTubers. Last real rumor that I remember being true was Khan being the antagonist in STiD.

Why is it people who post these 'rumors' can never cite sources?

Same reason that most of the time they post some kind of inane and unfounded rumor, and then never return again to respond to the comments in the very thread they created to "discuss" the topic.

I'd like to hear more about this.
