AFAIK, all starship bridges are swappable.
Except that’s not going to happen. Because CBS has no problem with the Discoprise and doesn’t see anything wrong with it or see anything that needs to be changed. They’re not interested in slowly changing it over time to make it resemble the TOS Enterprise.
Please re-read what I wrote. I was being facetious. My earlier post clearly shows my thoughts on the subject, which mirror yours.
I see that; sorry. Consider my post in response to anyone who thinks that SNW is going to change the look of the Enterprise.
I would kind of love it if the first episode of SNW just suddenly opened with straight up TOS aesthetics and that there's zero acknowledgement of why it suddenly looks different from DISCO. It would give the continuity nazis even more headaches.
They could do something like in If Memory Serves... where they show "The Cage" Enterprise moving through space as a Jeffrey Hunter soundalike starts a log entry while we witness "The Cage" crew in all their turtleneck glory on the classic bridge of the Enterprise... but then it slowly dissolves into the same exact scene on the Disco-version of the Enterprise with Anson Mount and his crew, as Mount finishes the log entry. Hunter can take the electronic clipboard from human Yeoman Colt and then Mount can hand back the data PADD to alien Yeoman Colt.
By the way, Star Trek absolutely has a caretaker. It's just that he's a bit easy going with what he allows the various showrunners to do, and he has to answer to his executive overseers. The same as in the '80s and '90s.
I liked that "previously on Star Trek", as if to say regardless of how different "The Cage" looked due different sets and actors, it's ultimately the same universe, you can't get all worked up on how different it looks because it's all imaginary. But again, I get it, some fans like at Ex Astris Scientia want to treat it as if it's a tangible reality as consistent as our own.
Indeed. I know that different fans interact with properties different than I but man I see a lot of hand wringing (or apparent hand wringing-internet and all that) over ensuring consistency.
I loved the "previously on Star Trek" bit but am more than willing to welcome the new interpretation of this continuity.
EAS is great, and I've spent hours there, but the current site policy of treating Discovery as a reboot because of visual differences... but treating Picard (back on topic!) as a continuation despite visual differences is not very tenable. Inevitably, one day, Picard will crossover with the other shows in some sort of big special, and this will render all of it as one continuity (or one reboot continuity, if you're so inclined).
I haven't visited EAS recently, but I do recall minor complaints about PIC having any ties to DIS as if that's a sin, like featuring an alien that originated in DIS, or the Starfleet delta design making a comeback. Such disdain!

What were the visual differences specific to PIC?
PIC featured a Tellarite that looked more like the kind we saw in DIS. CANON VIOLATIOOOOON.
Heck, it's the first time Tellarites have been featured in Picard's era EVER, not counting stock footage from TVH.

I think he meant the visual differences PIC has in comparison to the other TNG-era shows. Which is pretty meaningless, since PIC takes place 20 years after them, so visual differences are inevitable.
Heck, it's actually a lot more plausible that 2399 would look the way it does 20 years after NEMESIS, whereas with TMP they were obviously stretching it with trying to tell you only two years passed since TOS but all the aesthetics have drastically changed. Funnily, PHASE ONE was going to look relatively faithful to TOS anyway, albeit with more 70s era aesthetics.
