Wow, could they have found a ship that looked any less like the Enterprise? While the interior sets and costumes are clearly based on Star Trek, the ship model looks like something out of Star Wars. Considering that they even put a registry number on it (NCC-4587), I would think that if they went to all that effort to duplicate the feel of Star Trek, that someone would have come up with a better ship design. I realize this is just a one-episode parody, but heck, even the TNG porn parody had better looking ships

They’ve fallen into the trap of making it look cheap though. Star Trek at the time was one of the most expensive shows at the time at it was pretty groundbreaking for TV at the time. It infuriates me when people say it looked like “cardboard sets”. Those people should really do some research.

If you want a great duplicate of the TOS Enterprise, look up the Goodies episode Farm Fresh Food. Except for some plot related deviations, like having a table on the bridge.

That's just the Waverider, their ship in most other episodes, TOS-ified. They couldn't add nacelles or a saucer, because it wouldn't be recognizable as the same ship.
