Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I just want to move somewhere with actual seasons. Right now, we have "cool for 3 weeks" , "kinda hot", "hot" and "fuck it's hot."

We have four seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction.

Q: When is summertime in Canada?
A: Last year it was a Tuesday.

We actually managed to make it up to 11°C (52°F) today. Right now it's 5° (41°F) with a wind chill of 2° (36°F).

They're forecasting snow for the weekend.

sounds lovely - everything above 15°C is an assault by mother nature

actually, i read that as bars at first
A classical case of wishful thinking! :p
*confesses- was quite amused to think about a gazelle crashing about @GaryMitchells’ home. That sounds like quite the exercise regime!
We used to have a dog who'd collect cats: he'd very carefully catch them in the garden, carry them in and release them completely uninjured somewhere in the house. Having a hysterical cat crashing about the kitchen or dining room is certainly diverting but in the long run expensive on the glassware and china.

It's just a small comfort but we had the very same yesterday. This morning at 6 it was 2.6°C and now at high noon we are at 15°C but with a icy wind. We frequently get frosty nights in May. Continental climate sucks. I'd trade it for coastal any time.

I miss four seasons, definitely. We've been in Austin for nearly four years....the longest I've lived in one place, since my undergrad days. We will be here for a while. But a part of me is hoping to move away sometimes down the road, after years of teaching here. I'll miss Austin like hell, but I really don't see us retiring in Austin.

Austin is definitely the best place in Texas, but *everyone* is moving there, so it's now also the most expensive place in Texas.
