Just a little concerned there haven’t been any updates on this in seven and a half months ?

The images earlier on in this thread have become inaccessible ?

Is everything ok ?

I would not hold my breath for this one or any fan film these days.........First Frontier, Captain Pike, PAC-201..........

Hopwfully @Captain Atkin will poke his nose in and tell us something...

In the meantime—as per post 1 of this thread—there were considerable issues finishing this thing because the only parts ever shot were the planet [EDIT: and starbase] scenes so they had to solve problems related to that, including how to show Stan Woo's character in a shipboard scene 30+ years on.

I just pinged Atkin elsewhere to see what's news.

I'm chiselling away at a number of shots for Yorktown - a mixture of 3D set work and compositing fixes - so the project is still alive at this point, as far as I am aware...

I spoke to @Captain Atkin the other day and the show is still a going concern. He showed my one shot they did repurposing some of that 80s footage.

This is the live-action shot we just finished, with Sulu added to the bridge of the Yorktown. We used footage from the 1980's planet scene, and were able to use it for a quick bridge shot, before they all beam down to the planet. We also did the same for the Captain, to get him on the bridge as well.

As for when Yorktown will be done.... the rough cut of the film is now finished. It is 25 minutes long. Right now, we need to finish the music score, and I have to do ADR for 2 of the characters. I'm hoping to have everything wrapped in August or September.

A new trailer will be up in June.

Looks like there was an issue with the host provider I uploaded the photos on. I went and uploaded those photos again.

Thanks for the update after so long !

Have you put further thoughts into bookending scenes with George Takei on the Excelsior ?

Do you have an idea on what Sulu would say to bookend it ?

Is that an idea, which I think has a lot of support, subject to CBS being ok with it, that you'll be considering ?

No, honestly it wouldn't work for the story we are telling. It would also be very hard to do now because of social-distancing. It would also feel too much like the New Voyages Sulu story. This is very much set before the time of TMP, so we wouldn't want to time-jump, as its suppose to feel like a "lost episode" from the 70s.

That was my favourite part of New Voyages !

There's a few different ways it could be done, whether it's on the Excelsior or a lecture to Satrfleet Academy, but I respect your decision.

Just read through the entire thread. Kept expecting the final thing to be posted on the next page...then the next... heh. Anyway, there was a poster, Barbreader, who was wanting to see it as they faced some serious medical issues. I just checked and they haven't posted in awhile. Did they pass away or are they still around? Hoping for the latter, naturally.

Barb still posts from time to time here and at Facebook. I have offered to show her the current rough cut, but she has declined, as she would prefer to watch the finished film.
