Every franchise will have their ups and downs.
Every fan will have their favorites and least favorites.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.
Star Wars will live on.
May the Fourth Be With You. Always.

A lot of the times Jedi learn something new all that‘s required is a vague idea of what they want and a bit of confidence.
Heck, sometimes you don't even need to know about it at all. When exactly did Luke learn about using the Force to bring an object to his hand? When he does it on Hoth in ESB, we just have to assume that Ben told him about it off-screen.

True enough.

My drift from Star Wars has been protracted, probably as I had a long road to travel to arrive where I am now.

The film now known as "A New Hope" had a huge impact on me and it wasn't until I realised that I was losing interest in the old EU (during the Vong novel series) that my interest really wavered. The prequel trilogy didn't help, although in hindsight, they're not that bad. Not liking the animated shows played into it too.

The sequels nearly finished me. Although Last Jedi and Rogue One stand up, I'm finding it hard to care. The Mandalorian may be my lifeline.

Either way, Star Wars doesn't need me - there's a legion of new fans every generation, including my now adult son.

This is the way.

The Skywalker Legacy is one of the extras for the movie on D+. It's a full 2-hour making-of documentary on TROS.

A little off-topic, but May the fourth be with you all!
