The Cancel Thread, Corona Virus Edition

Hello!
So, I'm making this thread so we can talk about the canceling of things during this late unpleasantness,
what drove me to this is, the Cancellation of April 1st! April Fools day!
Quite a number of businesses and people have decided Not to do anything for April 1st and keep a more somber and grim/dark stance during this time. I say Hogwash! People are depressed, and lonely, and looking for things to do. April 1st should be CELEBRATED! Get people to Laugh and have a bit of fun this day, we can be somber tomorrow!

So this is my personal entry in to this thread, any opinions on this or any other thing that was/is canceled during this unpleasantness that rubs you the wrong way??

Well I had a walk cancelled that I really wanted to do. So on that date we did it anyway, so there! A lot less people though...
One of my cousins had to cancel her wedding.
A friend's sister died and they can't have the service until this is over.
Another friend's daughter just died and she couldn't visit her.
These things are hard...

Actually, the Big Fish Games website pulled an April Fools Day joke on the customers.

Ha-ha. I get that they wanted people's attention, but the punch line could have been a little more generous.

Canceled: the eye appointment I desperately needed so I can get new glasses. I can't read anything on paper without a magnifying glass, and even some online stuff is too hard to read.

My appointment with my hairdresser. Oh well, I'm working from home and not seeing anyone except my husband and son, and if it gets really bad I can shorten my bangs/fringe myself. It won't look pretty but never mind.
Not canceled but postponed, the final exam and graduation of a course I'm taking this year.

Same here. My dentist is only taking emergency patients for the duration. Fortunately, since I normally go in for a cleaning every three months, I can afford to miss one. Just remember to brush and floss regularly!

Well, yes and no. I think people should be able to get their moments of levity in these uncertain times, but I think the April Fools cancellations were done out of fear that some might use the virus as the subject of pranks. Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped anyone. I read about a Korean pop star who pulled a prank claiming he had the virus, later saying it was a joke and that he shouldn't have done so. Meanwhile, several days earlier someone in Canada faked a Doctors note claiming they had the virus and when it was found out it was fake, they were charged.

I'm in florida, most everything is closed.. I mean I know all the things.. But a small hobby shop with maybe 5 people in a 2000sqft area at a time?? Because it's not essential? .. It's being taken to far..

Yep, caused a lot of grief as the location then had to close for sanitation and all of its workers sent home for quarantine. Big reason why this really shouldn't be joked about.

Cancelling the Rescue Dog and Cat Program to provide emotional comfort during the Pandemic seems in order.

This is very bad news. Bad news for the simple matter of fact that the SARS-CoV-2 will have spread through the tiger population in South East Asia since December at least. Besides humans, he main predators of Pangolins are lions, tigers and leopards. Since Pangolins are a known source of Coronavirus, wild tigers interacting with Pangolins either by eating the Pangolin or playing with the Pangolin like cats usually do with prey, means that the Pandemic is much more widespread than we think it is.

Now the possibility of the virus being spread to house hold pets should be looked into today, not tomorrow, but today. The longer the notion of people believing that a pet won't be infected means the more likely that the virus is going to spread to become an infinitely exponential viral spread.

If the virus can spread from human to tiger and is able to spread from human to dog or cat in a pound, when someone comes to pick their Rescue Dog or Cat up and the animal is infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus will just keep on spreading and spreading.

Sometimes it feels like common sense has been cancelled too.. still too many idiots around that throw parties and what not..
Wished they could cancel hoarders and stupidity..

As for real life cancelled stuff, every concert I would have liked to attend has been cancelled, this is a minor inconvenience for me but I worry about the bands quite a bit, they take the brunt of this, without income it will be difficult to stay afloat for them.

I've had my sister's wedding cancelled in Europe (a few weeks ago now). Now happening with it next year, which gives me more time to save and lose weight. There is also the potential to meetup with some friends. Nothing planned yet.
