Spoilers Star Trek Picard Season 2 Hopes and Predictions

Wasn't there also a scene in DSC, when Saru asked the computer for a list of the best captains ever (to cross-refrence their personality traits), and it included Archer?

That said, I can't imagine why the topic would pop up in Picard.

Season 2 can take place entirely on Picard's vineyard, they foreshadowed it by saying the grapes need protection

There is even a Daedalus-class ship called USS Horizon in Sisko’s office, which might be named after the cargo ship Horizon in ENT.

I’m aware that ENT wasn’t referenced in TNG/DS9/VOY for obvious reason. But there doesn’t seem to be any interest in that particular crew or the NX program, although 22nd century history will be referred to when necessary and the NX registry has been used all to way to the 24th century.

Plus, there was the whole USS Dauntless NX-01A. Although it was created by an alien species, the Voyager crew never questioned the registry, believing it to be a Starfleet vessel. So, did Starfleet just start over with the NX registry once the Federation was founded?

Just seems like that part of history is willfully skipped over.

So Guinan's likely going to be in Season 2. What if she pulls a "Yesterday's Enterprise" and
Starts acting all upset around the Picard android, like she did with alternate universe Tasha, telling him "You should be dead, you shouldn't be here."

- Episodic story-telling. The writing isn't good enough to pull off season long arcs. A compromise would be S3 of Enterprise.
- Decent space shots, decent starship design. Hire a competent Federation starship designer.
- Stop overdoing the SJW stuff like Discovery has
- Goofy Jurati. Waaaaay more watchable than her angsty self
- Unlike Discovery, the characters are actually very likeable, double down on Rios and Raffi
- Don't let Akiva Goldsman direct an climactic action scene ever again
- Less "badass Seven", more likeable Seven who can smile on occasion.
- Discovery characters speak in statements, there's nothing natural about their banter. Don't let Picard fall into this trap.

They hadn't written it yet so it's a bit hard to reference a show that won't exist as a concept for a few years. Very few writers are from higher dimensions and they don't come cheap.

At least they gave us proper characters first, relationship stuff later. Unlike Discovery.

Did they?

You have Raffi and Seven, only one of which was ever hinted at being a switch hitter, suddenly being all lovey.

Raffi who previously was never even hinted at being even so much as bisexual, given she had a husband at one point.

The Raffi/Seven thing is more forced and contrived than Discovery, who just matter of fact stated that Stamets and Hulber were gay and in a relationship..just as a statement of "this is an aspect of who they are".

Please note that none of this is meant to imply any intolerance..just lazy writing.

Actually the subtext in the scene where Raffi contacted her old friend to get the clearance to get on the cube was a former lover. Michael Chabon has said he regrets not spelling that out a little more clearly to the audience. Even without it being directly spelled out, the subtext is there.

That's some JK Rowling level retconning.

But whatever, I can accept the Raffi/Seven thing as being poorly executed and badly planned/written, but the actual substance itself I couldn't care less about.

So tired of that term.....I would actually say more likely, poor editing and leaving too much on the cutting room floor.

I should mean I mean "lazy writing" as an unreasonably (in retrospect) broad term for poorly laid out/edited, etc. IE production issues.

Wow.....so much to disagree with here. This season the story wasn't about Federation starships or any hero ships really. It was about Picard........like the title hints at.
You think John Eaves is incompetent? Oooooo K. I'll take any Jurati that hasn't been brainwashed. I'll agree about Rios and Raffi.......and please add Laris and Zhaban to the damn crew! You got me on Akiva directing the finale too. Badass Seven only when needed....otherwise let her smile a little. She's had a rough time and Jeri has nice teeth.

Or perhaps the ECS Horizon seen in season 2 was the ship that left Chicago Mobs of the Twenties on Sigma Iota II

No reason it can’t be both :) .

Don’t expect writers to have foresight. Just noting an observation:

NX Project (NX-Alpha, etc; Pre-Federation)
NX-326 (USS Franklin from the Kelvinverse and likely won’t be mentioned ever)
NX class (NX-01, NX-02, etc; Pre-Federation)
NX registry (Post-Federation founding)

Plus a bunch of various events and figures from the 22nd century mentioned by TNG/DS9/VOY.

Not taking it personally that ENT hasn't been mentioned at all. ENT could be similar to how Morn was in DS9; lots of discussion offscreen, silent onscreen.

Plus, there is the USS Archer as well, which is supposed to be Excelsior class and named after Captain Archer.
