Game The Most Disliked Introduction Of Recurring Star Trek Aliens

Missed on the list: The Douwd as represented by Kevin Uxbridge in TNG's 3rd season "The Survivors".

Missed on the list: The Douwd as represented by Kevin Uxbridge in TNG's 3rd season "The Survivors".

Doesn't matter too much for the end result I think ... if someone else wouldn't , I probably would have picked that one off at not too late a stage in the game :)

Perhaps that one was not included because he only appears in a single episode ? (opening post states: some of these we only see once, but hear more about beyond that appearance; I was basically looking for as many aliens as I could find that resonated beyond the confines of a single episode). And I can agree to that, if all aliens that only feature in a single episode had been included as well, the list would have been impossibly long.

I feel increasingly disqualified to vote as I've never seen either ST or DIS. so I could only eliminate from the classic series which might not be fair any longer at this point. Think I'll refrain from voting for that reason now.

Saving "THE ASSIGNMENT". Rosalind Chao did a fantastic job as the creepy possessed wife. And, of course, Colm did a great job here. I always did find it funny that this was the exact reverse of what they went through in TNG's "Power Play".

And bonus, Rom got to do some stuff... enough to get him a promotion in the Engineering department.

(Side note: I also found it interesting that on DS9, only Bashir and O'Brien had their birthdays celebrated on screen. Maybe coincidence...)

PAKLEDS: “Samaritan Snare”, TNG Season 2

THE BA’UL: “The Sound Of Thunder”, DIS Season 2
XAHEANS: “Runaway”, ST Season 1

I'm not sure who exactly the Dopterians were, but The Forsaken was one of the better uses of Lwaxana Troi. I enjoyed the rapport she had with Odo, and it was also fun seeing Bashir trying his best to please all the difficult ambassadors.

I've got to go with "Babel" and the BOSLICS... I don't like this episode now, but I loved it as a kid, and this first Boslic guy sucks, but the later purple-haired "Boslic Freighter Captain" is a favorite minor recurring character of mine.

BENZITES: “Coming Of Age”, TNG Season 1

BRUNALI, WYSANTI, & NORCADIANS: “Collective” is saved, Icheb was a pretty good recurring character, I liked his and Seven's relationship.

I'll save The Benzites and Coming of Age. It's one of the better episodes from TNG's first season, and I liked that they needed breathing equipment. It was a nice touch that made them more alien to me.

PAKLEDS: “Samaritan Snare”, TNG Season 2
YRIDIANS: “Birthright, Part 1”, TNG Season 6
THE SON’A: “Star Trek: Insurrection”, TNG Feature
KEENSER’S SPECIES: “Star Trek”, Kelvin Feature

Gotta save my YRIDIANS... I loved these dudes, great visual design, and they were always cast exceptionally well. Bring these guys back in a streaming show!

PAKLEDS: “Samaritan Snare”, TNG Season 2
THE SON’A: “Star Trek: Insurrection”, TNG Feature
KEENSER’S SPECIES: “Star Trek”, Kelvin Feature
THE JAHSEPP: “An Obol For Charon”, DIS Season 2
THE BA’UL: “The Sound Of Thunder”, DIS Season 2
XAHEANS: “Runaway”, ST Season 1

I never like the Pakleds, but they are real and they are among us! And there is nothing wrong with their introduction with a solid episode.

THE SON’A: “Star Trek: Insurrection”, TNG Feature
KEENSER’S SPECIES: “Star Trek”, Kelvin Feature
THE JAHSEPP: “An Obol For Charon”, DIS Season 2
THE BA’UL: “The Sound Of Thunder”, DIS Season 2
XAHEANS: “Runaway”, ST Season 1

THE BA’UL: “The Sound Of Thunder”, I liked getting a closer look at Saru's home, even if the Ba'ul were just Armus in the transporter room.

THE SON’A: “Star Trek: Insurrection”, TNG Feature
KEENSER’S SPECIES: “Star Trek”, Kelvin Feature
THE JAHSEPP: “An Obol For Charon”, DIS Season 2
XAHEANS: “Runaway”, ST Season 1

I'll save Keenser next. He doesn't really say much but he's one of the less annoying cute sidekicks I can think of in film. He's kind of cool. :techman:

THE SON’A: “Star Trek: Insurrection”, TNG Feature
THE JAHSEPP: “An Obol For Charon”, DIS Season 2
XAHEANS: “Runaway”, ST Season 1

Oh sonadial, take me baku a few hours since I could have saved a lot earlier:

THE SON’A: “Star Trek: Insurrection”, TNG Feature

The fact the Bak'u and Son'a are the same species - one that, surprisingly, did not develop TV or shows like "Maury" or "Jerry Springer" that otherwise might have avoided their bickering. It's one of the few decent twists in the movie. Plus, F Murray Abraham really nails it as Ru'afo, saving scene chewing where necessary and otherwise underplaying some menace and crafting a halfway decent villain when all was said and done.

RU'AFO: We're not waiting until morning. Take the shuttles and get everyone off the surface tonight. ...Gallatin! If Picard or any of his people interfere, ...eliminate them.

What's remaining:

THE JAHSEPP: “An Obol For Charon”, DIS Season 2
XAHEANS: “Runaway”, ST Season 1

XAHEANS: “Runaway”, is saved because it was okay and because I like The Jahsepp less. They were a plot device to bring back Culber via a way too convoluted resurrection plot. They simply shouldn't have killed him in the first place.

"Winner":
THE JAHSEPP: “An Obol For Charon”, DIS Season 2

They simply shouldn't have killed [Culber] in the first place.

A hearty amen to that!

Thanks for playing, all! This was a particularly fun one to watch unfold.
