Game The Most Disliked Introduction Of Recurring Star Trek Aliens

Compiling this list made me really want some sort of team-up among members of all the nasty Hired-Thug races. Where's my mercenary team that's a Naussican, a Corvallen, a Yridian, a Markalian, and a Lethean?

Pulling Star Trek- The Motion Picture. The intro of the Deltans and Saurians is kind of a non event....but this is one of my favorite films. Epic scope, gorgeous visuals, legendary musical score (just got the 3-disk soundtrack set), and very good character arcs for Spock and Kirk.

I've got to be honest, I have only seen pieces of most TAS episodes, outside "Yesteryear" I just found them so hard to get thru. But, inspired by the

Riker shout-out to the Kzinti in "Picard"

, I just sat down and watched "The Slaver Weapon" all the way thru and was totally charmed by it this time. So fun to see Uhura, Sulu, and Spock have an adventure without that overbearing Kirk looming over it all. The Kzinti are hilariously threatening. I looked on the Memory Alpha entry and saw that the pink coloring was a mistake they regretted, but that was actually a perfect (accidental) color choice!

And the score of the TAS episodes can be really great. That's when this cartoon works for me, when I can just submit to that eerie/dreamy deep-space-mystery music and let it carry me into the weird slow 70's vibe of it all.

The edible I had earlier is probably helping as well.

I'm going to continue saving TAS and go with "Beyond The Farthest Star", which I also just now rewatched. Arex (and M'Ress) were always a favorite part of TAS for me, I was excited when Arex recently popped up in the "Year Five" comic.

Also, what a haunting end this episode has! The alien intelligence wailing from the planet: "Don't leave me alone! Please! Please! So lonely!" -- a happy ending as the Enterprise sails off on it's next mission!

I hope the tech someday allows us to have some live-action Edosians.

"Conspiracy" is next for me. A very good episode, particularly for season 1. I really wish we saw those creatures again.

The Bolians... they have become such a staple race in STAR TREK. Named after the director of this episode (And 24 more TNG, 7 DS9, and 10 VGR episodes.), it's always a treat to have them around.

I am pretty sure I eliminated the MALON and "Night" in the Least Disliked version of this game, but I now want to reverse myself and atone. I have rediscovered "Night" within the last year and like it MUCH more now. I think I maybe just needed to watch it on a better TV in a pitch-black room -- they didn't shoot darkness that well in this, in that the slightest illumination in the room I'm watching it in and the screen is washed out entirely. They made it a challenge to appreciate this one.

I also discovered this year how much I liked subsequent Malon appearance "Juggernaut", so I'm just feeling more favorably disposed to the race as a whole now.

CORVALLENS: "Face Of The Enemy", no idea who Corvallens actually are (any random species could have been used and it wouldn't have made a difference) but the episode kicked ass and was a great use of Deanna. One of the first episodes in which Quark is used to great comedic effect as he is completely unexpectedly chosen to become the next Grand Nagus (the shocked look on his face is priceless). Also an introduction to the faithful Hupyrian servant Maihar'du, who never speaks a word, but who genuinely seems to care for Grand Nagus Zek for reasons never adequately explained.

Context is for Kings. They actually succeeded in making the scenes on the Glenn a mini horror movie, it was a pretty creepy atmosphere and I liked the Tardigrade story that started here a lot.
