I thought so too, but Chabon pointed out why would Lore need to build a new android body for himself?I still think that’s Lore. I don’t buy this biological son thing.

With the CBS/Paramount merger thing, there wouldn't be any licensing issues for the Sovereign, Intrepid and Galaxy, right? The Odyssey might be an issue because its a design from the video games? They all looked the same to me.

But I guess I am a little disappointed that they did not throw in a recognizable class like a Sovereign, Odyssey, Intrepid, or Galaxy class. They were clearly going for fan service, why not go the extra mile and give us some fan favorite designs?
Where did you get that idea from? We've got Romulans on earth having it so bad they're manual laborers.
There were no rights issues before the merger. CBS owned everything. With the CBS/Paramount merger thing, there wouldn't be any licensing issues for the Sovereign, Intrepid and Galaxy, right?
Other body was damaged? I’m sure it could be easily explained.I thought so too, but Chabon pointed out why would Lore need to build a new android body for himself?
And Backup Data referred to him as his brother meaning he was aware of him and absolutely would have warned Picard if he was Lore. Nothing in his actions were Lore-like.I thought so too, but Chabon pointed out why would Lore need to build a new android body for himself?
Because 200 Romulan ships would make that an extremely costly arrest.People on reddit pointed out why didn't Riker arrest Oh for war crimes for the attack on Mars?
Also treason, the whole infiltrating-starfleet thing...People on reddit pointed out why didn't Riker arrest Oh for war crimes for the attack on Mars?
From the two Talshiar doing manual labor for Picard on Earth.Where did you get that idea from?
No, a copy of Spock was what came back, based on that logic. After Spock did his katra gut and stuff into McCoy..he was still Spock, it wasn't an empty shell sitting in the chamber talking to Kirk.
Indeed. It always amazes me how one form of science fiction magic is OK but another is not...Picard living on in a new body was the thing I said, earlier in the thread, that I could live with. I decided I wasn't going to be that person, but I wouldn't blame anyone for taking issue.
He'll only live out the lifespan he would've without the brain defect. Otherwise, I'd have more issue with it. It's better-rooted in science-fiction than Spock's revival in TSFS, to be very brutally honest.
They were doing that because they wanted to. They wanted to work for Picard. From the two Talshiar doing manual labor for Picard on Earth.

He is the real Picard in all the ways that it matters. But don't insult my intelligence by pretending he's the same thing.
You know what's weird? That Picard saved the day by making another Big Inspiring Speech, even though nothing had changed from all the other times this season where he made Big Inspiring Speeches that backfired. It just....worked this time, because we ran out of episodes and it had to. He didn't learn anything or modify his approach. I guess the lession here is just keep doing what you do because eventually it will work?
Because you assume that one is okay and the other is not to the person making the complaint. Maybe both are dumb. Spock's rebirth was equally silly and full of coincidence, for instance having the planet age him to right where he was before. But what’s a killer about Picard's rebirth is not the mind swap. They did that in Schizoid Man. I do accept that. But giving a 93 year old the only body developed and make it decrepit and only last a few years. It's not even magic. That's just bad decision making. And Picard may not have accepted rebirth. He didn't approve of what Ira Graves did. Why would he want it for himself? If there's a theme running through Trek, whether it's What are Little Girls Made Of or I, Mudd, or Return to Tomorrow its that putting people in robot bodies is a cheat.Indeed. This is a completely different situation. For one Picard isn't replacing/swapping an existing consciousness, the body was empty. Graves replaced Data, a sentient being, Picard's friend. He didn't approve of what Ira Graves did. Why would he want it for himself?
But he also lost some of his humanity. That was as big a point and argument to leave the body. Same with Roger Korbey. This is a completely different situation.
