News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

Decent photo. But she’s no Amy Adams.

She's no Teri Hatcher

Exactly what criteria are you all using exactly? Because my idea of Lois Lane as a character does not necessarily include "looks good as a pin-up".

Prettiness.

Men, in good taste, are not allowed to do that anymore to women.

Bitsy almost nearly already played Lois on Grimm and she shone.

If this is directed at me, I liked Hatcher's overall portrayal of Lois. It was different from all the other Lois's that came before.

And yes, Hatcher was hot. I know that in this so called "enlightened" age we're not allowed to notice those things, but I'm from the old school and am going to notice it. If anybody has a problem with that, too damned bad.

It's human nature. You have a right to like what you like.

And Lois has always been hot in every incarnation with the possible exception of Margot Kidder, who was no slouch in that department. On that note though, I have no issue with Tulloch in that department either. Hopefully, we will see a well written Lois.

The only thing that worries me are the kids. To me they are setting up one of them to go all Anakin and turn on his family. I hope I’m wrong.
Superboy Prime in a nutshell
Could you please spoiler code any more comments about the leaked pilot script, some of us are waiting to watch it when it airs and are trying to avoid spoilers until then.

Which department?

Objectification aisle four?

Starting to get a little worried for the Arrowverse shows since they all shoot in Vancouver and with the way the coronavirus is spreading, it might delay shooting for a long while.

A new report of casting breakdowns has surfaced for Superman & Lois. I'm not really familiar with TheIlluminerdi.com, but everything in the article lines up with what has been previously revealed about the show, and I see no reason on its face to doubt the info.

A few observations:
Makes sense that Lana's husband might be jealous of Clark's return (especially since it sounds like he has issues generally), and it would even be okay if Lana were drawn to Clark considering what seems to be a difficult marriage. But I'm going to be an unhappy viewer if they have Clark reciprocate in any way (other than friendship and kindness), because he is the absolute last character who should ever be tempted to cheat.

Interesting that they're specifically seeking a diverse actress for Lana. Of course, the character's been diverse before, in the person of Kristin Kreuk.

A bit disappointed that they're apparently recasting both Sam Lane and Morgan Edge. I hope they at least attempted to get Glenn Morshower and Adrian Pasdar back before going that route. Pasdar, in particular, I thought was terrific in his role.

Kristin Kreuk may have been "diverse," but she was playing Lana as white, given that both of her biological parents were played by white actors. (Which was a missed opportunity, because "Lang" is a perfectly valid Chinese surname.)

Agree that recasting General Lane and Morgan Edge would be a shame, but I guess it could be chalked up to post-Crisis changes. Although of course we have seen some roles recast without explanation before, like Alura. And Sara Lance, of course, and maybe Linda Park if you assume the TV newscaster and the newspaper sports reporter were the same person.

She's spoken unfavorably about that in recent years. She really pushed Millar and Gough to include more of her heritage, Sacred was the only heavily stereotyped bone she was ever thrown.

A fair point re: Lana's parents, and a detail I had forgotten.

Yeah, it seems an unfortunate and unnecessary choice on the producers' part.

I concur.

Lana wore a radioactive pendant for 10 years.

Some mutation is to be expected.

I'm going to assume Lex will be written out of Supergirl by the end of this season and transferred over to Superman?

Unless Jon is going to be double duty on both shows, but I think he'd make more sense being the big bad on Superman than he does on Supergirl. Wouldn't mind a crossover between SG and SM at some point though...

The Arrowverse producers love their crossovers, there is absolutely no way we won't get numerous Superman & Lois Lane and Supergirl crossovers.
