I think it’s pretty obvious from this thread that people have run out of things to say about this episode.
My assumption at the time was that Soji hadn't been allowed to access the areas of the cube with active xBs yet. All she'd seen up to that point was the ones still in stasis having their parts removed. Narek's connections allowed him to upgrade her access.

I just watched the scene. Soji is explaining things to the Trill newcomer and making jokes, not going wide-eyed. The group seems to a mix of veteran and new members of the project.
I went and look at TNG episode Inheritance transcript. Talk about in whether Dr. Soong had children were never brought up.
It did mention that Dr. Soong was old when he marry Juliana O'Donnell.
So it is likely that he was marry to someone else in the past that had died, which he had children with.

If Alton is Brent Spiner's age in this episode or close to his real-life age then he would have been born around 2328, at almost the exact time that Noonien and Juliana went into seclusion together.

So, Stewart was pregnant in season 5. I never would have guessed.
Yeah, that's entirely possible. I just really took it different on first watch (and haven't re-watched since), so it really feels like a retcon for me - even if it's just that I misunderstood in the first place. Though I'm really wondering if that's on me and my limited attending span, or if it was just presented confusingly.
Regarding how long Narek had been on the Artifact...Hugh told Picard that he'd arrived two weeks prior (pretending not to show an interest in Soji, who was already there).
