Maybe he was a stone-cold killer. Those mega-orchids in orbit certainly weren’t for putting in water.
I think it’s pretty obvious from this thread that people have run out of things to say about this episode.![]()
This sounds plausible. But I swear to god, we saw Soji meeting all the Borg for the first time, going through the whole introduction of the place, being in the middle of the newcomers, going wide-eyed through all the beginner stuff...
If she's truly supposed to have been there already 3 years before the show - this is either a massive retcon from the first episodes, or really sloppy writing, disregarding all narrative rule. If you set up an introduction scene - the viewers automatically assume it's an introduction for the characters as well. Except said character is a know-it-all to the new guys. Yes, that's not necessarily how real love works. But in fiction you need some shorthand to get much information across on multiple levels, without bogging the story down. In this case - that information is misdirecting.

I just watched the scene. Soji is explaining things to the Trill newcomer and making jokes, not going wide-eyed. He abandoned his wife and newborn son to run off with another woman! If Alton is Brent Spiner's age in this episode or close to his real-life age then he would have been born around 2328, at almost the exact time that Noonien and Juliana went into seclusion together.
How can you even say that? It is clearly a non-canon lab jacket and is an affront to everything Trek previously stood for. That jacket is a typical Kurtzman move.Alton Soong has a nice lab jacket. There. Thread reinvigorated!![]()
Do people even wear jackets in the 24th Century? (Other than cast members who are pregnant, of courseHow can you even say that? It is clearly a non-canon lab jacket and is an affront to everything Trek previously stood for. That jacket is a typical Kurtzman move.
I just got to season 5 in my TNG re-watch. Picard is sporting the red jacket over the gray/purple Tunic. So, yes!Do people even wear jackets in the 24th Century? (Other than cast members who are pregnant, of course![]()
So, Stewart was pregnant in season 5. I never would have guessed.I just got to season 5 in my TNG re-watch. Picard is sporting the red jacket over the gray/purple Tunic. So, yes!
My assumption at the time was that Soji hadn't been allowed to access the areas of the cube with active xBs yet. All she'd seen up to that point was the ones still in stasis having their parts removed. Narek's connections allowed him to upgrade her access.

You certainly typed a lot of words. Congrats.
That's not canon. I refuse to accept that words were typed. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!

It’s funny how offended you guys get by this. As if my not liking or acknowledging part of the franchise is going to make it disappear. Again, it’s entertainment. Chill out.![]()
I'm not offended. I'm amused. That's far worse.
You must be offended or you wouldn’t be trying to offend me.
If you interpret disagreement as provocation for offense well that's a "you" problem.
It's time for everyone, including @Mark 2000 , to stop making this thread all about @Mark 2000 . We're here to discuss the show, not individual posters.I think writing a long satire about me and then comparing me to a crying man is an attempt at offense. How would you take it?
I agree completely. Thank you. It's time for everyone, including @Mark 2000 , to stop making this thread all about @Mark 2000 . We're here to discuss the show, not individual posters.
