Spoilers Picard, Dominion War, Voyager, References.

I think its just to avoid discussing the politics of the fallout of the Dominion War. The Federation seemed to move on from being in a wartime mindset shortly after the end of Nemesis and seemed more focused on technological upgrades. Even the holograms are more updated from when The Doctor was on Voyager.

The Destruction of Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and the Romulan Supernova are also possibly more significant events at this time. After all, they were unexpected catastrophes involved the destruction of two planets and massive loss of life; one planet whose atmosphere is still burning over a decade on and was where on major power built their fleet of ships, and one planet of which was the capital world of a major power.

Unless something happens in the show that directly needs to reference the Dominion War, I don’t see why it would be mentioned.

It’s been over 20 years since it ended. I don’t mention the Iraq War, Cold War, Vietnam War. (You get the point) in everyday life. I don’t see why it would need to be referenced on Picard when, so far, nothing that has happened is related to it in any way.

I’d like to see some reference to the Dominion War eventually. I know that Picard must have had some role in that War. That it doesn't directly pertain to this story, I understand, but, the Romulans were allies at that time. If the show goes into other plot elements, I think it would be a disservice to be silent, as if it never happened.

I am a huge DS9 fan but I don't care if they mention the Dominion war or not.

I would be thrilled if they make a visit to DS9 next season. Now that's the kind of tribute I want to see, not some throwaway line of dialogue.

Chabon has said that "Far Beyond the Stars" is one of his all time favorite episodes, so maybe Benny Russel will get a cameo.

I'm not bothered by the omission of or lack of reference to the Dominion War. If anything, it should be a footnote on the show; it's just not relevant. The Romulan supernova and the synth ban in recent decades have more of an intergalactic impact.

Did any of the recent Star Wars films ever reference the Clone Wars, or how Senator Jar Jar Binks voted to give Supreme Chancellor Palpatine emergency powers? Even if they had been mentioned, they would have no bearing on the plot, which focused more on the conflict between the Resistance and the First Order.

It's inconsequential.

The Force Awakens does mention clone armies.
Rogue One features a Clone Wars era troop transport, and Bail Organa notes that Obi-Wan "served him well in the Clone Wars."
The Last Jedi did mention how Palpatine/Sidious totally pwned the Jedi Order.
Solo? Got nothing.
Rise of Skywalker features a voice cameo from Ahsoka.

I’m just hopping, in due time, that the Dominion War will be addressed somewhere. I’d also like to see DS9 too, but I’m not sure if we’re going to get that.
