Okay, but why is it asinine and stupid? I genuinely don't get why you don't like it.idk... maybe because things that are asinine and stupid are a problem

I like the Star Wars comics. They call it "canon." But I am under no pretense that it can be undone with a snap of the fingers.
No, not really.True. I mean I could say that in my mind 7-9 are not canon (they are not) but they still are. But I'm good with my own thoughts.
Still the canon thing.. is important ..
Actually Star Trek: The Animated Series has been considered canon for quite a while now. It's been referred to in the later shows, and books and comics pretty consistently for quite a while now. The whole non-canon thing was just for short time because Rodenberry or one of his people didn't like it.Pretty much nails it. Plus, Star Wars and Star Trek are different franchises with different rules. Star Wars uses more outside sources for canon where Star Trek tends to stick with what's on screen.
In Star Wars, the animated shows are canon. In Star Trek, they are not. Same with print material. Their choice. Personally, I would think if there are contradictions, there should be a hierarchy.
You're describing the infamous and maligned tiers of canon from the old EU.In Star Wars, the animated shows are canon. In Star Trek, they are not. Same with print material. Their choice. Personally, I would think if there are contradictions, there should be a hierarchy.
In Star Wars, for me, it would be movies first, then live TV, then cartoons, then print. To the extent things contradict, I would give weight to the original trilogy first, then the prequels, then the sequels.
Works for me.Also means that she knows exactly what Han was going through when she released him at Jabba's Palace.
And that is useful knowledge.

Nothing. It's the same stuff as always. I saw carbon freezing happening in lots of different mediums long before Clone Wars. Clone Wars used it, Mandalorian used it and the comics used it.What happened to this franchise?

Nonissue is a nonissue.
Books, comics and video games.Where did you see carbon freeze used before Clone Wars? I thought that was an original idea (well, I know it was originally from Empire). Was it in cimics? Books?
Anakin and Obi-Wan were frozen in carbonite too, in TCW. Ahsoka, too. The episode was "The Citadel," which is a great episode, by the way, with parts 2 and 3 "Counterattack" and "Citadel Rescue."
Obi-Wan and R2 were at that point absent from Cloud City. Vader had the idea to freeze Luke in the first place and test it on Solo. There's no other overlap of personnel. Lando's concern was that the facility at Cloud City wasn't designed for the process. I think it works. That one might bother me to a degree. It seemed no one knew what effect freezing someone would have until they did it to Han Solo. Though if it was a good story, it is something I would tend to let pass.
I'm in the category "I don't mind breaking continuity, I just want the story to be worth it".
