You can make an argument that the endgame of the series is setting up for the death of any main character. Except for Raffi. She really doesn't have "nothing left to lose" and I think it's obvious they want to set up a multi-season redemption arc for her with her son/grandchild.

And her position as chief scientists abroad the La Sienna will be replaced by....The Doctor/Zimmerman EMH in S2.

Which does not bode well for the Rios EMH as Zimmerman EMH does not like competition, and deactiviates him for good

The same feeling... I didn't want to start watching at all, Seven was a decisive reason to give it a chance.
Actually for me this show is in a deep coma after Hugh's death. Star Trek is my safety shelter, I need a time to recover it.

No way Picard dies, considering Star Trek: PIcard has been renewed through season 3. Besides, the showrunners know the only reason anyone is tuning in is because of his presence.

That being said, I could see Narissa being put out to pasture (I predict swarmed by the XB Romulans).

Soji is another possibility -- I don't think they'll continue the same story arc for S2, so gotta wrap that up.

Don't think so. Soji is probably the key to find the other hidden Synths. Plus she might be adopted as Picard's daughter by the end of S2, so by the time Picard dies anytime after S2, the show may continue on as 'Star Trek: Picard' but this time Soji will be the main character.

Jurati -- probably overwhelmed by guilt, and her purpose is served once the Synths are found. Seven's fate will be a mystery, but she'll end up back in S2 at some point.

I think that's Jurati's fate too. Fans will riot if Seven dies and rating for S2 would drop, so it's not gonna happen.

Rios and Raffi will hang around, as will Elnor. I wonder if all three will end up back in Starfleet, with the action in S2 being on board a starship... OMG: I just had Buck Rogers flashbacks. IGNORE THAT!

I think they will stay on board the Renegade... uummmm...La Sienna at least for S2.

I'm not sure if most fans are willing to watch 7 extra seasons of a ship staffed mostly by holograms, notwithstanding how interesting each hologram personalities are .

Plus I don't think the series could carry on with a bunch of newbie characters, notwithstanding the strong performance of Isa Briones (Soji/Dahj). Evan Egoria (Elnor), and the others. They'll need an established character to keep the series on after Picard's gone, either Seven, Riker/Troi, or someone else.

Perhaps it'll be different if Sir Pat leaves after S3 but in the unlikely case he leaves after S1 or S2 the series will need another establish character to carry it on so it may last for several more seasons...
