If I understood correctly (I have to listen to it on my computer, the speakers are broken, so really bad sound quality),
they confirmed on one of the recent Deadpool podcasts that Rizzo and Narek were lovers once. They definitely do like their GoT. Sorry if I misheard.I think it's in this one:

Per latest episode, they were both adapted by Aunty Rambda, and my impression was that they came from different families, so they are not really related

Here's my prediction for the three main villains: one dies (because comeuppance), one is arrested (because our heroes are too merciful and want justice), and one escapes (because we need to reserve a villain for the future). And I don't think both siblings can survive.

    Rizzo dies.
    Narek escapes.
    Oh is arrested.

From that insightful list I'm going to guess Hugh.

So far, I hate to say it, but I could care less if anyone dies except Hugh, Soji and the Romulan chateau roommates.

If they touch our criminally underused couple (Laris & Zhaban), I'm gonna riot!

I care for Picard, Seven, Rios, Raffi, Hugh and, mostly for Picard's sake, Soji. Oh, and Admiral fucking Clancy, of course! I hope the Troi-Riker collective is safe. The rest can just bugger off.

Seven, Elnor, Laris, and Raffi are the ones I'd riot over. (Still snarling into my teacup over Hugh.) I'd be very, very sad about Rios, but I could live with it. Picard has plot armor, he's a gimmie.

Not exactly a death prediction, but does anyone think there's a good chance we'll lose most of this crew once this season wraps, and pick up with a new supporting cast and season-long adventure arc for S2? Zhaban and Laris could easily stay around. Maaaaybe Elnor since he looks like he's going to be the most under-developed of the season, but he has reason to move on too since he's got a new, more hopeless cause to chase. The others seem like they could go to the four winds pretty easily.

Nah, Ned would have cut off that Romulan's head himself. ;)

I wish they’d stuck with Raffi, Hugh and Soji. Jurarti’s character development has been hot and cold.

They can always change the ship, not always have to be La Serina.

I'd be quite happy if it went that way. Keep Rios and Raffi, find a reason for Laris & Zhaban to come onboard, ditch the rest. Provided they don't spend half the season, again, to pick up new crew. Elnor, for me, has been disappointing. He belongs to a fantasy show or Star Wars. But I guess he's here for young girls to fangirl over. And people a tad older seem to think Narek is hot, so he might reform and join the crew.

I really like Elnor as a character, but I agree that the way he's been used has been disappointing - and, more to the point, I suppose, hasn't justified taking a whole episode out of Picard's journey to go and collect him. I like the character, can kinda see where they are going with him (although I think keeping him apart from the rest of the main cast does him a disservice, more and more so as La Sirena's crew continues to bond without him) but so far I've seen nothing to demonstrate why Picard thought it was so important to go and fetch himself a murder nun in the first place.

I re-read some threads of DSC and learned something. Do you remember the common complain about Airiam - that we can't be really upset by death of unknown character? Well... I hope everyone who wrote it is now upset enough by Hugh's death. Didn't you got what you asked for?.. :borg:

I’ve always been a Star Wars AND Star Trek fan equally.

But The Mandalorian was executed almost flawlessly, with not only great action but interesting characters.

    SPOILERS

I felt a sense of loss when the Ugnaught and the IG robot died in Mandalorian.

If Rios, Jurarti or maybe even Raffi were to get blown up, I don’t think I’d feel anything. Those characters have all but been proven superfluous. And they’ve all had more screen time than those characters in Mandalorian.

The only NEW characters I feel for are Picard’s Romulan roommates.

Villain wise, I only really like Narek. Probably my favorite Romulan since Mark Lenard. I really like that guy’s performance.

I kinda felt the same why when Vulcans started showing up in robes and began to spout semi mystical nonsense.

Are we even watching the same show(s)?

Other way round for me. I enjoyed The Mandalorian, but didn't feel attached to any of the characters, really. I didn't feel I had enough time with most of them to get attached. But I have become very attached to Picard's little motley crew. I'd hate to lose any of them.

Elnor's been my favorite of the newbies, but I agree that the writers don't quite seem to know what do with their little D&D elf monk. I've greatly enjoyed his interactions with other characters (brief as they've been), but there really doesn't seem to be a direction for the guy. Is he supposed to be resolving his resentment toward Picard? Is this his growing-up arc; if so, where's the audience investment supposed to be? Is he supposed to be another opportunity for Picard to right some of his unthinking errors - that would, at least, be reason for him to carry over for S2 (and, ngl, I'd watch a whole season of our cloistered young Qowat Milat learning to navigate life on on Earth under the same roof as two ex-Tal Shiar). Or has he truly thrown in his lot with Seven and the XB, in which case, happy he was around, but, as said, that was a whole episode that could have better served characters already introduced

I feel like S1 is full of good ideas (not to mention great actors), but the characters are mostly outlines they haven't had the space to flesh out that well. And so many of them seem attached to plot beats specific to this story that I have a hard time seeing them opting to stay around as a crew once the synth mystery is solved, even if they all miraculously wind up back in Starfleet's good graces (and even then, Elnor and Soji are the odd ones out).
