Star Trek Picard is not Star Trek

Heh ... Since the NAME is pretty much what counts, your argument is really rather silly.
Don't get all caught up in swimming across that river in Egypt, the water there leaves a lasting stain when you finally climb out.
True. That’s the argument I use when people say that the Star Wars Christmas Special isn’t canon. It’s got Star Wars in the name. Bea Arthur is a Star Wars character and was helping Wookiees celebrate life day. You can’t deny it happened. It’s true. All of it.

...recent years by taking the Star Trek Blooper reels and charging folks to see it at Colleges (I know because I attended a showing at CSUN in 1981 - admission $15 per person) in the late 1970's and early 1980's.
I saw him twice at Union College in Schenectady, NY during that time period.
The first time I got his autograph and spent about 10 minutes talking to him one-on-one.
(there were only seven of us who attended)
He was a very interesting and intelligent man to talk to back then.
:techman:

Heh ... and Life Day has been mentioned several times in Star Wars Productions since then, so yeah it is true.

BTW: I'm not the one in denial.

By 1981 - he wasn't even sticking around to say anything. there were about 25 or so people in attendance at the show I went to; and we were expecting either an intro by GR or something, but were told: "He dropped off the reels and was going to come back after they were shown...", and I guess that's what happened as I didn't hang around after they started breaking down the projector setup.

Padmé isn't mentioned in any of the Sequel Trilogy movies, either. Just saying.
Except JJ Abrams went out of his way to explain why we weren’t getting midichlorians. He didn’t say anything about Padme not being mentioned and no one cared because her existence wasn’t a point of contention with a vast majority of fans. Midichlorians were.

The second time I went was kinda-sorta like that.
There was a much larger crowd, but he did stick around to answer questions for about an hour after the reels were shown.

They weren't decanonized any more than Sybok has been just because he hasn't been mentioned in years. You have every right to think the Prequel Trilogy is garbage but it's no less Star Wars than the Original Trilogy.

Anyway ... this isn't where a "Star Wars" conversation belongs.
SO, you can continue on your own as that ideologue.

Don’t tell me, tell Marvel. They retconned out Itchy and Lumpy! Why they want to act like everything in the Christmas Special isn’t canon, I don’t know.
